Default Winchester M-22

I'm picking up 2000 rounds of this stuff on Thursday.

I've never seen it before. Is it any good?

Like all .22lr ammo, some good, some bad it really depends on how your firearm likes it. I recently got a case of Eley Target (very good target ammo). My Kimber 82g and CZ UltraLux shoot sub-moa 5 shot groups@ 25 and 50 yds with it. My Savage MKII BTVS shoots it like a shotgun pattern. You just never know.

Thanks Glenn. The 10/22 is one I was interested in knowing how they worked.

It's very accurate in my 10/22. Picked up 500 rds of it & really had no intention of buying more but the 40gr solids seem to work really well. Grabbed another 1K rounds yesterday.

It's a no go in the wife's Mosquito, tho. Makes it a singles shot.

My buckmark contour loves it, as does my friends ruger 22/45, and the S&W that kinda looks like the ruger (can't remember the model #).

Me too.

Will be ran through a Neos and 10/22. Looks like the 10/22 should be fine and I'm hoping the same for the Neos.

I got a 1000 rd box in the mail the other day from Cabelas. I ordered it like a month ago and forgot all about it.

Cha-ching!

If it similar to the 333 and 555 Winchester it is GTG. That stuff works great in my rimfires.

Poor QC. You will find a lot of bent lead, bad molding, loose bullets. They are garbage rounds IMO. I hope you get a decent batch.

That's a bummer. I hope they are reliable. I don't mind inaccuracy though..we mostly just hip fire into a big dirt pile while making war faces.

My 10/22, Buckmark, and my son's Marlin 795 all feed it well. Accuracy is ok and it is a little dirty. As reliable as Minimags for me, but not (quite) as accurate. If your guns don't like them I'm sure you can sell them for enough to get something that does work in your guns.

Scored 1000rds of this stuff from Cabels and tried it out this weekend.
Cycled well through 10/22 and buckmark, no issues, 100% went Bang.
Accuracy was reasonable. Hard to tell this weekend because of high wind.
Was shooting at 100 yrds (10/22) 25yrd with buckmark. Grouping was reasonable that those ranges and condtions.

Cool thanks for the report.

There's another thread bashing on this ammo so I guess you will get mixed reviews. I haven't tried any.

Good luck!

It's my new second favorite begind Blazer 40gr bulk. 40gr solid. Pretty clean, a few swipes with a solvent patch & the bore is shiny. Cycles my MKII, MKIII and 10/22 Rugers. Very accurate for bulk.

Won't cycle the wife's Mosquito but not many bulk ammos will.

I know. It's kind of funny.

I had no experience with them and asked how they were. Most people that replied here said they are pretty good.

The other guy posted that they suck and everyone is like yeah they do.

Agreed. QC is definitely not in the ballpark of Federal Bulk ammos. I have experience quite a bit of FTF and bent lead with M22. This will occur with all bulk ammos, but the M22 occur much more often than Federal bulk and CCI Mini mags. M22 is a fine plinking 22LR, just don't expect CCI or Federal quality.

I lawl'd...

I really need to get the M22 out & see how it does. I did manage to spray a pattern out of my new MKII pistol at 25 yds similar to the Fed bulk out of a rifle...

It's out of a bone stock 10/22 All Weather with 2X red dot.

Blazer bulk did about the same.

Surprisingly Blazer & GB are the only bulk we've found that cycles my wife's Mosquito.

Golden Bullets work well in all of my .22's even my Mosquito. I think I must have gotten a batch of overcharged M22, too much velocity and leading.

The stuff I got came from Big 5. I have 2K on backorder from Midway. I'll give those a try when they get here. I wonder if there may be a couple different sorts going around. People seem to love it or hate it. Of course, same thing with Golden Bullets.

So do I. And, 5000 rounds of some other crappy Winchester ammo.
