The double standard is staggering with these assclowns. Here's another quote from Amiano: "Ooooh Chairman you;ve brought me men in uniform!"... "you know how I like men in uniform!" "oh and I like men OUT of uniform too". Imagine if a republican said that about women testifying...
The filth and corruption of this state makes me sick.

He was referring to the Deputy LA police chief, his sergeant and the Emeryville police chief who buy the way all flew up to Sacramento ON THE TAXPAYERS DIME to support unconstitutional laws...

Why are we paying these guys to do this? If they want to support unconstitutional laws they shouldat least do it on their own time and with their own money.

I am sure this will be all over the mainstream media, given their abiding love of civil rights and determination to expose racism to the world

What a dork! In my culture, the women hunt as much as men and are as successful as the men. I know a widow who continues hunting even years after her husband has passed. In fact, her 4Runner is lifted just so she can go hunting.

Get that dork of a DeLeon out of office!

It's suspicious when anti-Second Amendment extremists, author, or for that matter deal with anything in the legislature, having to do with gun legislation. Their un-American agenda shows through and the Deleon is a prime example.

Well, I don't know ANY minority (i.e. African American) women who have EVER bought 3K rounds of ammo for their personal use. Do any of you? (lol)

Given that it was said by a liberal democrat, the main stream media won’t touch it. Can you imagine if a republican had said the exact same thing?

I'm sorry to say, but he's pointing out the reality, which is a major source of gang members' weapons and ammo is straw purchasers who are usually their girlfriends.

Identifying patterns is the essence of intelligence. Early humans identified patterns, such as, "when I see animals eating berries from that bush, they get sick and die". Humans who were more intelligent refrained from eating those berries. Less intelligent humans did eat those berries and died. Really really stupid humans agonized over "berry discrimination", and said, "not every single animal that eats those berries has died so I'll go ahead and eat them", and they died.

There are patterns such as gang members girlfriends, who are typically minority women, acting as straw purchasers. Should we pretend like we can't see something which is obvious and undeniable? Should we never ever say it, even though we all see it? If we pretend hard enough that we don't see something, maybe it will go away?

I'm not advocating that anyone should be denied rights, but I am certain that vigorously prosecuting straw buyers (whatever their appearance) would help us a lot. Those straw buyers will not be a perfect cross-section of America.

Right now it seems that straw buyers are rarely prosecuted, because prosecutors are afraid of looking bad for locking up a lot of young NAM women. Sometimes it takes guts to do something that needs to be done, even if it feels bad. I don't enjoy the thought of a young minority single mom being in jail because she was pressured by her thug baby daddy to do something stupid, but we need to have the guts to take action if we want to stop the violence. The laws are there but fear of reality is stopping us from using those laws.

Default I've always wondered why

Why is it so difficult to identify straw buyers? It probably isn't. The political truth is putting single moms in prison isn't going to look good. It would solve the problem, but be very bad for those who actually punish the criminal for his/her acts.

So the next time my asian fiance wants to buy me bulk ammo for my Bday, I'll make sure she tells the cashier she's not going to sell it on the black market.

I understand that you have to make judgements when trying to pursue crime, and straw purchasing is a big deal for LE. I just think it's ethically irresponsible to start using this logic in the writing of new legislation.

What a sexist dolt!! Is he saying that ammunition bought by a woman, any woman, is suspect? Why aren't any women's groups outraged over this statement? Why is Gloria Allred not in front of a micraphone demading his resignation?

He is both a sexist and a racist.

And my wife likes to shoot on occasion. She is both female (have to specify that in California nowadays ) and a "minority".

The idea that my wife should be profiled if she went to buy ammo is asinine. And admittedly we don't live in an area he specified, but so what if she went shopping in that area?

Anyone remember that Mark Kelly attempted a straw purchase? I'm still waiting to hear about his being prosecuted.

They know who the gangbangers are. If they want to go after them, they should go after them.

And they actually have a policy not to prosecute "baby mama" straw purchasers for known criminals. IOW, they won't prosecute in the exact circumstances for which the law was designed. Anyone have the idea that they are trying to catch the non-celebrity person who makes an innocent mistake? What a revolting government we have.

Somebody has to have video/audio of that. If made public, it would piss off a LOT of people that voted for him.

Here's hoping he just pulled a Paula Deen.

That's exactly what you are saying. We need "common-sense" gun laws to keep evil minorities from having guns.

Because of our fear of "terrorists", we now have NSA spying. We need to stop being so concerned about all these "bad people" and fight for the rights of everyone.

Wow, what a racist piece of work that guy is. If Paula Deen gets thrown to the wolves for admitting to using a racist word 25 years ago this guy should be thrown to rabid rats!

Where is Al Sharpton? Where is Jesse Jackson?

Video is here: http://calchannel.granicus.com/Media...7&clip_id=1465

He starts talking about 3:05. The guy immediately before him seems to understand the problems with the bill though so worth listening to. I can't find the exact quote, but around 3:08 actually gets quite a bit worse than is quoted and I think was what the OP was meaning.

Always fact check or provide sources, people.

Edit: 3:10:10 - "Magazine Clips".... ugh. And it goes downhill from there.

Fascinating.

I was in my LGS this morning and witnessed a 50yr old East Indian woman purchasing a handgun and ammunition.

Clearly she's up to no good rather than protection her life/property from a rash of local B/E lately.
