More is always better! I keep 10+ mags for each handgun. Having more mags also helps when you are training.

Yup yup. Figure, when training - 4 on the hip and one in the gun. Have 4 at the house loaded with hollow points you never have to unload to go to the range (1 in the gun, 1 next to it, and 2 more at opposite ends of the house should you have to chase a bad guy down the hall). The 10th is a just in case.
