Default Transferring firearm form a deceased friend?

What's the requirement for transferring hand guns and rifles from a deceased individual?

He no longer owns them. You need to find out who is the legal owner is. Were they willed to someone? Living spouse? Are they part of an estate? Who is the executor of estate? Someone legally owns them now, or has been given legal ground to sell/transfer them. That is the person you need to talk to.

The executor of the deceased's estate is responsible for the firearms.

If the recipiant of the firearm(s) is listed on the deceased's will, then it can be transferred via Operation of Law.

If the recipiant of the firearm(s) is not listed on the deceased's will or there is no will, then the executor of the estate can PPT (CA FFL dealer ~ 4473/DROS/10 day wait) the firearms.
