7) Prince 50 bullet button
8) Hogue rubber grip w/ rubber base plug
9) Ebay’s extended take down pins ( $25 thought id hate them but…….they are great)
Upper:
1) JD Machine 7.62/38 matched upper receiver
2) JP Enterprises.308 Low Mass Carrier
3) JP Enterprises .308 EnhancedBolt
4) JP Enterprises chrome firing pin assembly

It doesn't look like there's much room between the gas block and quad-rail ????, Was thinking of using the same rail, also wanted adjustable gas block.

I just wanted a simple fighting rifle that would keep the zombies at bay:

- Bushmaster LR-308
- Aimpoint PRO
- Magpul furniture
- Geissele SSA trigger
- YHM flash hider
- YHM front sight/gasblock
- YHM rear folding sight
- CAA grip
- CAA flashlight holder
- Surefire G2 w/LED KX4
- Slash's Heavy Buffer w/spring
- Magpul 10/20 magazines
- BCM Large charging handle

Looking to add a Aimpoint 3x magnifier here shortly.

Have you shot it yet? My first bolt stop looked like yours and it broke the first time I shot the 308 (Looks like an AR-15 bolt stop). I replaced with an Armalite bolt catch but it is too tight to fit in the JD lower. So I replaced with a Gen3 CMMG and it has interference issues with my JD upper (works fine in the lower though), it gouged it and removed the annodizing where the bolt stop sits so i can see where it is interfearing... Rifle is still down, considering taking it to JD but some people warn me they might screw it up more.

No I havent been out to shoot this yet
I do know that the previous owner had put about 40 rds through it without a problem and he bought it from one of the JD armorers who put it all together.
I will let you know if I encounter any issues once I do get it out on the range!

Love all the great pics but even more helpful are the lists of parts guys have selected. My build is going slowly but I have big dreams.
So far:
762 Industries NiB BCG
Tactical Machining 80% lower
JD Machine upper (ordered w/o their logo or any other engraving)
The naked receivers will wear custom engraving of my own design (someone else's skills though) and the finish will also be custom colors & designs.

A true one-of-a-kind, custom tribute rifle that I'm sure will out shoot and out last me.

Thanks for all the great ideas!

I just bought a CMMG complete lower for .308 and a stripped YHM 5.56 lower. I originally planned on starting with the 5.56 but after reading this I may change my mind.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. I shot about 100rds and didn't experience any problems with the bolt stop. In fact the only issue I did encounter was the bullet button coming loose (must have inherited some free will).

Personally I wouldn't have concerns about taking yours to JD but you may be privy to things that I'm not. Best of luck!

Here's my first build. It's still not where I want it. Going to change out the stock for end for an SWS 15" and the flash hider for a surefire brake. It's a budget build so it's somewhat less spectacular than the other rifles in this thread.

Specs:
DPMS LR308 Lower
CMMG MK3 upper
CMMG 16" SST barrel 1:10 w/A2 flash hider
CMMG MOD0 forend
Magpul MOE Rifle Stock
Magpul MOE Plus grips
Magpul BUIS

Optic:
Primary Arms 1-4x24 scope

Where are all the AR-10's???? If it weren't for the original Armalite Platform, there wouldn't exist a .308/7.62x51 AR-Platform to begin with!

It's an awesome build, It's surprisingly light. 12.5 pounds all in with scope and loaded mag.[/b]

Nice dude I like it. Question for you guys with the Magpul CTRs - are those larger CTRs made for the .308s? Or do the regular 5.56 AR15 size ones fit over the buffer tube? I have a POF .308 AR and it is HEAVY. A decent chunk of that is the PRS...I've been thinking about swapping it out for a CTR with a cheek riser.

If I could start my gun collection over, I would only have LR's. I hope I haven't built my last one. No bolters, no M1A's, no AR-15's, just the mighty LR's.

This one is not finished yet but she's a dang nice shooter. The recoil is fierce when doing bench work, but not really extraordinary when shooting offhand. The finishing touches that remain are a nice stainless comp and some kind of nice pistolgrip, haven't decided on either one yet. I've done plenty of nice shooting with this rifle. My proudest moment was a couple weeks ago when we walked downrange for a target change. All 5 in the red all cloverleafed, the other nine targets didn't have one shot in the red. Rifle is very light, 7-8 #'s unloaded, 34" long, and God does that metal handguard have a nice feel to it.
