Sounds like this scope might be a good match for a Mini-14. Can it be mounted using the OEM scope ring set up?

Yes we created the 6x to work with AK74,Siagas,AR,Mini14 and any other rifle that shoots 5.56 and some .223 rounds.

Any issues using this scope with a standard AR front sight?

OK guys, I've scanned all the threads on the ACSS and I don't see much on what scope mounts people are going with. I bought and ACSS, thinking I had an extra LaRue mount laying around, but the ring size is too big. (LOL at myself; Its always bugged me to more in $$ in glass than the rifle, but I'm coming around. So what do I do? I put a $180 scope in a $270 mount).

Anyway, I saw PA's offerings, but I wasn't prepared to make a choice at order time. So what are you guys using? I'd love to get a lever mount so I can pop it on and off easily. For those that don't have one, the ACSS takes a 1" scope mount. Going on a railed DD 16" barreled upper.

LaRue will usually supply 1" rings for your mount at no charge, if you contact them.

^ Thanks for the info, I'll give it s shot.

I'll still take recommendations on mounts because in the long run, the La rue will end up on my LR 308 (if I ever finish it).

Question: how is it that you are able to patent that reticle when it's essentially the same reticle that Trijicon uses, being the only difference I noticed was yours has the mph dots on the sides?

There are no leads, vertical ranging and wind combined in a Trijicon.

Trijicon uses ranging with BDC corollated and based on Russian reticules

Look familiar?

Same with the Horseshoe
It has been used in some tank sighting systems

The ACSS does this as well but focuses on critical factors

Ranging
ranging with an ACOG style reticule the person must be facing you in order to range them shoulder to shoulder if they are sideways you cant range them right. In our testing people don't face you directly that almost never happens unless they are prone. In live situation people move!. The ACSS ranging allows for all angle and while moving.

Wind
Wind is critical factor past 400 you loose center mass. After testing and testing we understood just how important wind is.

Leads
In live situations again everyone is moving
8.6 is a must for engaging fast movers.

All these factors make the ACSS unique and patent pending as a sighting system.

8.6 mph is how fast the average target runs holding a weapon. Snipers use it for a firing solution to lead targets. In Iraq it was used extensively to stop insurgents from crossing streets trying to resupply or better position them selves. The lead dots on ACSS are set from 50-300 yards. Its set for 90 degree angle but you can use your judgment on angle, half speed and so on. Its a point of reference. Same with the wind if its a 10 mph wind double the hold and so on.

Any idea what your fps is?
2750 with 149gr standard M-80 will have you on out to 700yards at 800 it will be roughly 10" high so hold at belt line.

I like this reticle. Any plans to put it into something else, like a 1-4x?

We have a 1-6 in the works
Prototype appears highly effective at CQB at 1x and at 6x steel targets are not safe out to 800

any ETA?... I have a pre-order for Bushnell Throwdown PCL, but your scope in 1-6 would be an interesting consideration...

Whoah whoah whoah... as in a .22lr version???

I was originally planning on getting two of the 5.56 versions, one for my 5.56 ar, one for my .22lr ar.

How would you work out the reticle for .22lr? Keep the shoulder width of human and height of human thing, but just change the holds and windage?

Or maybe do like height of a specific small game for ranging?

You have my interest, the mic is yours.

It would be cool if you could do one for 300 BLK that had dual holds for supersonic/subsonic ammo. The supersonic holds would work pretty well for 7.62X39, and subsonic holds would be a very close match for the .22 LR.

300 BLK out has been considered but we are not sure how many are out there, ammo availability and so on. I have created a 300blk reticle thats sweet... But its not up to me.

IS this sight weather proof? and will there be a version that uses a pic rail instead of brackets or whatever?

I had pm'd you guys with these questions... but figured you guys must be swamped with PMs so hopefully can get the answer in here:

Looking to get the 6x for fiance's rifle. Our outdoor range is around 3,000ft elevation.
The rifle is a 16" barrel shooting 55gr 5.56 ammo.

1) Using a 50y zero, what will the rest of the holdovers (200y-800y) be? Same? +/- XXX? Will the 50y zero throw off the leads, avg target height/width as well?

2) If we end up using the 100y zero, i would assume the 200y holdover should be ~the same for 50y?

What 5.56 m855 or M193?
Why 50y and not 100y?
All the ranging stays the same and lead. The BDC will be high with a 50y zero. Unless after dialing in at 50 you drop down 1 moa
