Wow. Between how cool the 50 yard scoped target is, and the fact that I am not last on the year to date points.... I am going to try and shoot this month.

Gotta maintain my record... lol

Have fun shootin' tomorrow!

Got to shoot mine tonight. I switched out the front sight to a post style rather than the small ring. Started with a 121 on the SK ammo, then I shot a 130 with the Wolf. Best personal score yet, I have a new picture on the phone...

WAAAAY better. It was easier to put the post on a consistent spot below the circle target. It was weird how I could raise & lower the post and it would distort the target as it began to move over it. I would find the spot where the circle didn't distort and the post ended right below the circle every time.

I almost feel like the stock I just ordered was a waste of money, this rifle is amazing just the way it is 99% factory, all i did was add a cheek riser.

I want to thank Izzy again for putting this together every month. Thanks to this competition, my groups got small enough to realize my sights were a little over 1 MOA off - amazing how much of a difference having your sights properly aligned makes! Still can't compete with most of you, but prior to today my highest score on the 25 yd irons target was an 87, and today I shot 2 105's and a 112. Now to work on shrinking the groups some more and getting more consistent from bull to bull.

Here's my 112 - I forgot to add in the 2 bonus points on bottom left target before taking the picture, so the target still reads 110.

Thats damn good for using Tech Sights, the best I could squeeze out was a 116 when I was using my 10/22 w TS.

The competitiveness of this monthly match makes you work harder to achieve what you know others can do. Push yourself harder, recognize your mistakes and you will succeed.

Good luck!!

Thanks! I will admit I felt pretty good with it. I know I can do better because I did have 1 bull with all three shots touching on one of my 105's today. I think I'll be able to squeeze in one or two more days this week on my lunch hour so we'll see if I can improve any at all this month.

Made it back out today. I was on a roll! - until I accidentally shot the second bull four times instead of three and messed up my mojo. . Since all four shots were 10 pointers and while close, none of them were actually touching, I just deducted 10 points and counted the target anyway. The farthest left shot did just break the ring I checked it with a round. Still improved my score over yesterday to a 118, and I have now proven to myself that I am capable of a 130+ score if I work at it. In the words of my friend Ice Cube, Today was a good day.

Here's the target.

I'm kind of proud of this target from today. They RO only gave me an hour on the 50y range before I had to make way for some LEO training. It actually turned into 50 min. but I was able to get the CZ sighted in and fired 2 targets. This is the better of them and I think I coulda got close to 120 with another try but that'll have to wait until next time.

112 at 50y

Nice shooting Sando. Some of the Federal ammo I have shoots surprisingly good. I need to get out to the range and past 25 yards!!

Also, nice improvement peterabbits. Those are some good groups for a semi auto with TS.

Jeez Sorry Tim that's not right. I shot that target with Wolf Match Extra, which I think is part of the reason I did a little better at the 50y.

Very nice Sando! I tried early in the month to shoot a 50 yd target. I'm going to blame my poor results on the wind, but the truth is I know I just don't have the chops to perform well at that distance with a .22 yet. Gave me a newfound respect all over again for how good all of you guys are.

I might make it out one more time this month, we'll see. Semi annual physical inventory at work tomorrow, and I'm in charge of it. ugh.

Thanks, pr. It's my personal best but I think some here wouldn't bother to post it. I'm gonna focus on 50y for awhile before stretching out to 100y. That's where the men are separated from the rest...

I like Wolf. It is a shame I only got one brick when it popped up, my Savage really likes it.

First post here. Had a lot of fun with this target. Tried it three times before I shot something worth looking at.

I am not sure I scored this properly, but I came up with 54. Those two hostages I nicked might have lived.... lol They made a big difference, could have been over 85 points.

Moral of the story... It sucks to be a hostage.

Wow great job on the perfect score! It's one of those things that looks so damn easy but there's alot more to it than you think even at 25y.

Bleh. Not my best score. Kinda rushed for time. Snuck out for an early morning shoot. Tried different ammo. Went with federal bulk. Turned out to be not as accurate as yellow jackets in the 10/22. Hoping to find an hour in the next two days.

Btw. Usmcchet, what's your rifle/sight combo? That's impressive!!

Here's to next month. May the RF gods smile on us all. And some more than others

Thumbs up More April Match

Went to Sac Valley to shoot some outdoor targets, it was a great day and I had a lot of fun.

25 yard irons 126
50 yard irons 94
50 yard scoped 40 the hostages had a rough day wow
100 yard irons 39
25 yard pistol bench rest 107

Attachment 228546

Attachment 228547

Attachment 228548

Attachment 228549

Attachment 228550

I was very pleased with the old Mossberg S42 M with iron sights, it was working great, but my scoped gun was crap, I was having a lot of problems with the bullet not going where it was aimed. No excuses but that is the gun is the one that I want to replace anyway. Sorry about the hostages I have one more target to shoot 100 yard scoped one night this week.

A fun, long day shooting. Wind in my area has been up almost the whole month and its been difficult to get out and shoot. Since it is near the end of the month I went out today and shot in a 5-15 mph varying wind. Spent a lot of time waiting for the wind to subside between shots.

Here's the results.

All shot with CZ ULtraLux and Wolf MT
100yd Irons-Score 43
50yd Irons -Score 122 (Edit: score is 121)
25yd Irons -Score 131 (Target indicates 132 but actual is 131, math error)

Shot with Kimber 82g/Weaver T-24
50yd Scoped - Score 73 (headshot one hostage)

Shot with Savage BTVS and Hornady .17HMR V-max/Vortex Viper 6.5-20X
100yd Scoped - Score 80

Shot with S&W 22A-1 Pistol/TRS-25 Red Dot and SK Pistol Match
25yd Benchrest -Score 74
25yd Offhand -Score 86
15yd Benchrest -Score 104
15yd Offhand -Score 63 ( I need a lot of work here, lower right hole on the "MAR" was the 5th shot on the upper bull, sounded like it only had primer, no powder)

I also shot the 100yd Irons with the Kimber set up but the wind was really moving the .22lr bullet around, horrible results so anyone who says the .17HMR is not as good in the wind as a .22lr is blowin smoke.

Targets

I was getting pretty "eye weary" near the end. Shot for 4 hours. Lots of other issues this month, just couldn't get out very much but the flooring is all in and looks great.

About as hard to beat as your 50/100yd Irons with that Kimger 82G, good shooting by the way but once in a while the blind squirrel finds the acorn. It's all fun and keeps me out of the bars.
