Default Need help please.

An Ex-GF moved to the east coast for school and left a revolver behind and no longer wants it.

What can I do to put it in my name?

Sounds like you might have a problem. Why didnt she take the firearm with her? If you were in posession of her gun for more than 72 hours you should have done loan dros and 4473 on it. That way it would legally be in your posession. They do this to avoid these types of situations. I would say you might be able to do the DOJ voluntary registration, but Im not sure if thats the correct course of action on this one.

You can legally loan a firearm for up to 30 days I thought? I know this does not help the OP, just curious and trying to clarify. Pretty sure it is 30 days. However, yes prior to her leaving you should have done a transfer at an FFL. Just hope she comes back real soon, at which point you guys can go down and transfer it.

2) The dealer licensing and reporting requirements do not apply to the loan of any firearm in the
following instances:
• Infrequent loans of firearms between persons who are personally known to each other for any
lawful purpose, if the loan does not exceed 30 days in duration. (Penal Code 12078(d).)

Did his loan exceed the 30 day duration?

I think that if you are in posession of the firearm for more than 72 hours it has to be DROS'ed and 4473'd. Looking to find PC still.

But this seems to me that Mmm is correct. Still searching....
