Default East Bay (Walnut Creek/Concord) Safe Movers?

Anyone have any recommendations for some local safe movers? My Sturdy is coming in next Friday (curbside) and I'm thinking I'd be better off hiring some pros rather than lose a few friends....

Not a single recommendation out there? Are people just moving their own?

Should you decide to move it.
OPEN the lock & bolt work and tie the door closed.
Move Safe
Untie door and without operating the handle ...... OPEN door !!
WITH DOOR STILL OPEN test the lock/bolt work.

If you bumped the safe and the relockers dropped in, it's not bad new IF you have the door open when you find out.

Mine was delivered into the garage. (I used some Egyptian techniques and a little physics to get my 800 pounder up the steps and into the final location.)
Are you trying to get it moved to your house? Placed in the house? Up stairs?
Or are you needing it delivered TO your location?

A little info may help us to help you.

Thanks for that tip Barry!

Sturdy says that the shipper will try to put in the garage, I have my doubts because I have a fairly steep driveway and my street is also on a slight downhill so I don't think a loaded palet jack can be used. My house is your standard 60's ranch, the safe is going in one of the back bedrooms, the only stairs(3) will be the ones to get into the house. In the house it's hardwood floors over a raised foundation.
I'm thinking I can rent a furniture dolly rated for 1600lbs with one of those flip out support wheels and get it inside with a friend.
My wife says hire a pro...

For heavier safes, pros recommend planking along the path to ensure that the weight is distributed over enough area to keep from damaging the floor (or falling through it!).

If the safe is really heavy, you might also be interested in one of the power lifts to get it up the 3 stairs - may seem like overkill for 3 steps, but lifting 1000+ pounds 18 inches is not that easy (this was my first time to do it) and a mistake could be dangerous.
