Is that a good price for that size of bullet? .33 ea? I am new to rifle reloading so I don't know. I was hoping to buy less expensive for my .30-06 but there isn't much out there.

Also, do I need to slug my M1 Garand or will this size projectile suffice?

The price is expensive due to its a Match bullet. BC of .504.

Varmint Projectiles are 10 bucks less a box of 100... http://www.midwayusa.com/product/429...zer-box-of-100

They are jacketed bullets.. not sure you could slug it.

I switched from SMK to Nosler a few years ago and never looked back. The meplat on the Nosler Custom Comp is much more uniform, and the cost is about 30% less. These are in stock at Midway. dealer price is 23 cents each for a 155gr:

Thanks for that heads up Flyin Brian, those look much more like what I was looking for and the price is more reasonable too.

The 155s can sail pretty flat out to 1k, if you can get them up above 2900 fps and preferably up to 2950 fps.

Part #2156 is the SMK you want, as it's the newer, slicker version.
