Question If my out of state Father wants to give me a off roster pistol. Legal?

Hello I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this. If my out of state father wants to give me a pistol that has fallen off the California roster, Can he?
If yes, who in Southern California (FFL) would be willing to accept the transfer and do the DROS. Not all FFLs are comfortable with these type of transactions.

Thanks in advance

Yes.

There is a thread of FFLs who are willing to do it. I can do and I am in Simi Valley. Fort Courage Armory also does I believe does and I think EBR also does it.

Thank you Kemasa and RepomanNWP for your responses. I read that link earlier and I was still not sure about off roster guns.
Do you have the link to the list of FFls? if not SimiValley isn't too far from Pasadena.

'Scuse me?

How could this be worded better?

These transfers are exempt from the Roster

An additional part of the Penal Code, 32110 (was 12132)

Quote:
Article 4 (commencing with Section 31900) and Article 5
(commencing with Section 32000) shall not apply to any of the
following:
(b) The sale, loan, or transfer of any firearm that is exempt from
the provisions of Section 27545 pursuant to any applicable exemption
contained in Article 2 (commencing with Section 27600) or Article 6
(commencing with Section 27850) of Chapter 4 of Division 6, if the
sale, loan, or transfer complies with the requirements of that
applicable exemption to Section 27545.
says that intrafamilial handgun transfers are NOT subject to the Roster of Handguns.

Librarian, problem wasn't your wording. It was 100% my ability (or lack of) to understand it.
Many, many of your posts and articles have been super helpful to me throughout my 13 years of being a member. Thank you

We need this list as a sticky.
That way more dealers can add their names to the list. I visited two shops in Burbank today and both said no they don't and they can't because it's not allowed by CA DOJ.

If they called the CA DOJ, then they might get the correct answer, if they ask the right question and get the right person.

I tried to get the first shop (Aegis) to contact DOJ but he said no and quoted an instructor at a recent CAL DOJ workshop he attended. I like using this shop fro ppt just because they are super friendly and are just as friendly to other customers. They just won't budge on this one. Oh well.
How do we get that list brought back from the dead? It's too old to bump back up.
