Looking to buy a gun online from a private party out of state. Can anyone recommend place with the cheapest ffl transfer price? $35 including dros is the cheapest ive found, but its in San Diego. From what I understand if its from a private party, you don't pay CA sales tax?

Up here in the bay area, it depends on the ffls...some do collect tax no matter what, except for FTF transfers. If it's beiing shipped, they dont consider that as ppt, only ftf. You have to make calls and ask. Gl.

My store is in West Covina. We charge $35 for transfer, but discount to $25 for NRA & Calguns members. Plus we need to collect sales tax and DROS fee. We are listed on google and on gunbroker.

I use a FFL dealer named Michael Morrison from Pacific Coast Firearms. He operates out of his house part-time (he has another regular full-time job). $25 flat transfer (+DROS) for long guns. He lives off the Imperial Hwy exit off the 91 fwy. Not sure about taxes and private party sales (although I'm about to use his services for that in the next couple weeks), but out of state transfers are no prob. I just ordered two rifles from two different places (one FFL and one private party in two diff states). He offered to do the two guns for a single $25 transfer fee. Great guy.
If you contact him tell him Paul from CalGuns referred you (I get no discount or anything for referrals, this is a genuine recommendation based only on his prices and service). |

yup, I posted that a couple months ago. this was after I called them one day to have them send out their FFL info to another dealer. the guy takes down the info and says he'll take care of it. a week goes by and the sellering dealer says he never got the FFL info.
A call back to Highland Pawn and the guy answering the phone doesn't know what i am talking about, and that they "have never done dealer transfers".
