In that case I'm pretty sure you win. Unless you didn't work well together. LOL

I could send you a copy of the denial letter that you will likely get, I'll erase my name and you can put yours in.

Ha! Im expecting to be denied as well. Clean record, solid good cause, and good moral character will result in denial I'm sure. Haha don't bother wasting the stamp to send it. Does it say why you were denied. Josette told me you could come in and talk to some officer about being denied and if possible reapply in 6months to a yr

That is why I haven't applied. I don't know the sheriff personally and am not a significant contributor to his campaign so I would expect to get denied as well.

Ya I know what you mean. If only I lived one county south it would be no problem. A coworker of mine wrote a simple one line good cause and obtained hers. Madera is a much easier county to obtain ltc.

That's bogus. I bet that's the standard letter he just pulls from his cabinet and signs. There is likely no acceptance letter in that cabinet.

I heard that you could apply with next closest city but being in Delhi, that doesn't leave many options. Anyone else heard this

Talking to one of our local newspaper reporters the other day and he was under the impression that the lawsuit against Pazin has been settled? He didn't give me any details or where his info came from but? Anybody heard anything on this?

As far as I know it is not settled yet. Not sure what is going on exactly right now but Brandon said something on FB a week or so ago that there would hopefully be updates soon.

It's been nearly 2 months since I submitted mine. Haven't heard anything back yet from S.O. about it.

Inquiring for my friend. He is a business owner in merced and lives in merced. He wants to acquire a conceal carry permit. What are his chances? He is willing to make contributions. Thanks in advanced.

I would say his chances are probably slim to none depending upon his occupation. I applied in February and have still not heard back whether I'm approved or denied, but they did say it would probably be 3 months before I heard anything at least. Contributions may help, but with the lawsuit in limbo right now ( anyone? LOL) it might be better to try and simply get some face time in as far as fund-raisers, joining or donation to search and rescue, asking for a tour, etc. prior to breaking out the checkbook in a significant way.

Yep, it looks like they just pull that out of the drawer, add the date and your name & address and mail it out, exactly, word for word, the letter I got last year.

Which is why the "May Issue" scheme is so wrong, each jurisdiction gets to set it's own criteria, that, on it's face it violates the 14th Amendment.

so with the win in Michelle Rossow, et al. v. County of Merced and Merced Sheriff Mark Pazin, what does that accomplish? The unlawful extra requirements/fees? None of the articles have specifics.

The policy now conforms very closely to state law. This doesn't fix "may issue" there, but it does mean that once may issue is dealt with in much higher courts, the rest of the policy is lawful.

Default Re-consider CCW App?

So, had a court-hearing this morning in family law. One of the topics of contention happened to be my former father-in-law's drug use. He happened to be in the court room today, and got very disturbed by the topic. After court was over, I was talking to my attorney outside, and he walked past us. He looked back a couple times, and when my attorney walked off, I started toward the crosswalk to cross the street. He stopped in the middle of the crosswalk, and told me "Don't you ever call me a drugg addict again. I'll f***ing kill you. You better watch your f***ing back, mother-f***er, because I'm going to kick you ***!" I stopped, asked him if there was a problem, did I need to get a deputy. He continued to curse at me, so I went to get a deputy. As the deputy walked me to the car I told him what happened, but the guy was nowhere to be seen, so nothing could be done.

I said all that to ask this: On May 10, I got my denial letter from Merced County SO for my CCW app. Do you think they will reconsider once a report is generated (waiting on Merced P.D. to take the report now) or will I have to re-apply and wait another 3 months?

Filed a report with Merced P.D., requested they forward to the D.A.'s office. Also notified my attorney, maybe she can get a TRO filed, thus giving my request more validity and teeth.

Depending on where the threat occurred, the S.O. may have gotten it on cameras--they're all over the new court building, including the exterior.

The crosswalk, you stand a chance of it having been recorded. If you notified a deputy right away, you MAY be able to have a copy of the relevant footage added to any report.
That would certainly help bolster your side in applying for a CCW or getting an RO from the Court.

Good luck.
