stuff that you can haul back home. Basically, leaving no trace, not even steel casings.

Ah, the date has been set, and the ONLY weekend I don't already have something planned. I will be there just for the day, will probably not be spending the night.

On the compensator... Ooops.

That said I'm sad. Nowhere near me. And too far out of my travel range. Looks fun!

Thanks for everyone who volunteered to bring radios. Last year, IIRC, we had some Motorola two way radios and they worked fine. I, as the RSO, had one and was in the middle of the line and two assistant RSOs were near the ends and we were able to communicate fine. I also had a electronic bullhorn that someone was nice enough to bring up and we each had some of those gas filled airhorns.

We had a huge line of about 65 canopies, with approx. 150 people and we had no safety issues due to the coordination among everyone. This years will hopefully be as good and as safe!

Also, let me reiterate what was said by bob7122 and may have been mentioned earlier: Please do NOT bring Tannerite or any other explosive product (other than legal ammo obviously). The Rangers at the local BLM office have stated in the past it is not permitted. We do not want anyone arrested or cited, nor do we want our shoot shut down or impacted negatively in any way. Thanks everyone.

Are you able to crossband or simplex repeat?

We should also pick a non firing line frequency like 145.560 mhz and a firing line fequency of 147.620 mhz

Re: The radios. If you have one, bring one.

The cease fire warnings are called over the radios five minutes prior and 1 minute prior.
This will save everyone the problem with having to unload a just loaded firearm.

If more people hear the 1 minute warning, they can quickly fire off everything...we can get out and fix our targets, then get right back to shooting...avoiding 30 minute ceasefires.

Wired headsets are even my better, as they can fit in your ears, and you can still hear while shooting.

LoneWolf, can we add these to the list:
1) If you're bringing a tent/canopy/shade/whatever, bring plenty of weights to hold it down as there are strong winds around noon to 3 PM every day. Last year several blew down range as well as a table or two blew over with guns going everywhere.
2) Organize items list for those going to the store or coming up in the middle of the day or different days. Example would be ice, food or bug spray.

I'm so in! I'm a recent Cali transplant and semi-new shooter so this will be my first event. I saw on the front page that there's offroading involved to get to the site? Anything too difficult for a gal in a VW Jetta?

Welcome to Calguns.

Last year we have members attending from all over the state (from San Francisco and San Jose all the way down to San Diego) and fellow brothers form Arizona, Nevada and Texas.

Yes, a couple of gentle off road driving miles are needed in order to reach the campground and shooting line locations.

Low profile vehicles, RVs, Trailers, Toy haulers, etc. have made it with out problems.

This is a 100% Family oriented event.

Hope you can join us......

I'm in +4.

Really looking forward to this, but I'm going to have to ration 50 rounds of 9mm over 2 days, if those powder and bullet orders don't get filled soon. 48 hours/50 rounds=1 round an hour - LOL. Better bring some .22 as well, I guess.

Buy a mosin and shoot 7.62x54r the whole weekend. 880 rounds still can be had for under $200.

You will need all that money you save for shoulder therapy on Monday, lol.

I'm in! Maybe this year someone will remember to bring a zombie movie, lol.

Here's a quick iPhone video I took last year. Gives you an idea about the lay of the land.
I was about 75 yards down range during a cease fire looking back at the line of canopies.

I was out at the site today. Windy as hell, so I just did some function checks on new rifles. Place needs to be cleaned up a bit. Some yahoos left a bunch of junk out there. A zillion shotgun hulls. I'm sure I'll be out there again before the shoot. We should make a concerted cleanup effort on Sunday to make it look better than when we got there.

Regarding ATVs and bikes, there are a zillion trails out there. Quite a few people out riding today.
