Is there a way to contribute via PayPal other than directly emailing funds to kevrok805@yahoo.com?
I know that PayPal is not pro-2nd Amendment but it's secure!

Don't know if the Trust Fund cited in the original LA Times article is still active or not but you might give them a call Monday morning and check it out. Its in the last paragraph.

It would be another avenue some Calgunners may prefer.

ETD; Just did a Google search and it seems Rabo Bank is now at the location of the American Commercial Bank.

Thanks to everybody who's contributing! As of 0900 this morning (about 12 hours) we've raised $355 which is over 25% to our goal.

Important Reminder!!! Please do not comment on the fundraising site about firearms, ammo or shooting.
Nothing wrong with what we're doing but I don't want to run a foul of any weird policies, thanks.

Hold on rubicrawler, you need to confirm with the OP if he's accepting anything through that email. So far that hasn't been asked. Most are using the gofundme site in this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=710073

Keep in mind everyone, the OP was only introducing himself and asking for some advise/recomendations and we jumped in as a group and offered our unique brand of support. So if you're wanting to deal direct then you need to ask OP directly first.

I'm going to be super busy all day at work, so won't be updating too much but wanted to give a lil' something. I'll give a better update tonight.

Before retirement I was coordinator of an assistive technology lab., credentialed as Assistive Tachnology Practioner and licensed with the State of Kali. Im too far away for hands on help but advice and direction is readily available to any who need it. Remember: simple is best. Don't try to techie, you'll get too frustrated with adjustments and expense. Concentrate on what you need at the lowest level.

Yup, newer article here.

Also a feature length film was made of this, trailer here, "Thy Will Be Done"

Looks like the movie may be viewed online at Channel 1.

I'm in for a meet up at Oaktree, whatever ammo I have or can find that Kevin needs and, if Kevin is interested, I'll offer him free classes for NRA Basic Shotgun, Basic Pistol and Basic Rifle. I have a few other thoughts but, I need to meet Kevin before I decide if they are viable options.

This thread just made my day It makes me happy to see good people doing good things.

Someone should let a big famous pro gun news paper or website know about this to get some publicity hehehe I mean, other than calguns of course

Ok Donation complete. I spent all of last year in a wheelchair and I'm just starting to use a walker. No more action shooting for me, but I'm keeping all my gear just in case.

Oaktree sounds good to me. I've got .22 ammo!

First off, there's been significant progress on the donations since the last time I posted on this thread! Over on the donation link there's been sightings of hoards of irishmen and a rumor the AK-Team's roaming about!

As of 2100 hours Sun 02-24 we're at a total of $960! Much respect to all.

Up to now, we've welcomed, donated and had all sorts of great offers come in, at the moment...
I need assistance finding an in stock Glock 19

I spoke w/ kevrok805 a little while ago and he's 99% sure that he's going to rock out with his Glock out.

Calgunners: Ready, you mean you think you're going to find a Glock 19 in stock, at your will, during The Great Panic of 2013?

Ready: Well uh yeah! There's thousands of members here and you'd be hard pressed to find a more knowledgable, connected group of people on the subject anywhere.

Calgunners: Yeah, we are kinda special . So what do you need from us?

Ready: I need you guys to help me find a way to get a Glock 19 into our new friends hands ASAP. Preferably near him or a way to transfer near him and if we could make it happen this week then we just might have him all set up in time for a bad a#$ shoot n' que.

Calgunners: OK, we'll look into it. What happens if we can't find one soon.

Ready: Well if we have to order one and move on with the meet n' greet then so be it. Either way, he's gonna get what he wants here. Between us we might have enough toys to keep kevrok805 entertained for an afternoon.

Calgunners: Ready, you realize you've been talking to yourself this whole time, right?

Ready: Cough Cough...Bull$__t cough cough

Got it? Short version: Please help us find an in stock Glock 19 to purchase ASAP. Thank you!

ETA: Moving in a new direction, he's going with G22 or G23 in .40 cal

There's a place down here that might have them in stock; I'll check tomorrow. If they have them, maybe you can sweet talk a FFL up there into waiving the typical receiving fee?

Thanks nonos. If you find one please pm with details price, payment method, shipping etc.

Same for anyone else, best to have several options rolling around.

Kevrok said as far as he knows IVE and shooters in Ventura are OOS. Redmonkeys gonna try with blueline tomorrow. Turners Oxnard would be another option we haven't explored yet. Maybe EBR Works, after that I'm running out of local ideas.

Good Morning my new Brethren! I hope all is well. First, a special thanks to Baboosh - he has hooked me up with the special equipment I will need from beadaptive.com stuff should be in soon. Ready_eSeVe - Set up the gofundme site and has been awesome. so grateful for his heart in setting this up. Donors - I cant believe the response. Thank u from the bottom of my heart for your donations. Unbelievable! There have been many other offers such as unlimited ammo, lock boxes and even help to put together some uppers & lowers for an AR rifle. I am so overwhelmed and i awe of the response of all you CalGunners, truly awesome!

I spoke to Ready_ eSeVe last night and expressed that I was leaning for a pistol. prefer a Glock 19 maybe even a G17 if we get desperate. The places I checked briefly are out of stock. But, with what I have seen from u all is that if it can be found u guys can find it.

Anything left from donations will go to a shoot & Que. We hopefully can set something up in the next few weeks. Nothing like the smell of gun powder & BBQ in the afternoon. Can't wait!

Kevin

Yes, please. I really need everyone to check around. I didn't have time to hunt today but I'll make some calls/send inquiries tomorrow. I'm wondering if anybody has connections with Turners, maybe call in a favor seeing as how they've gotta be the biggest FFL in the state.

Thoughts on the pistol:

It's going to be difficult to find the G19 in stock let alone locally and timely.
I've got requests in to EBRWorks, Turners and grabagun.
We already know IVE, Shooters and Blueline are OOS.
Gunbroker? Maybe, though it presents it's own difficulties. Sellers willing to ship, roster approved etc.
If we find gen4 online, maybe SSE it?
Cash is ready to go at any point now, that's not an issue. Also we've raised a nice amount so don't necessarily need to find a discount, just a fair market price.
Blueline has offered to help w/ the transaction. I have a feeling IVE would help w/ an SSE if need be (haven't spoken w/ them about this though).

Nothings set in stone, kevrok has showed willingness to look at other options.

Kevrok, if you don't mind would you walk us through the process of your decision for the G19 and any other thoughts on other make/models?

Calgunners, please chime in with any thoughts on all this, I need help with this, thanks.

As requested I did some research and found some G19's on Gunbroker.com I just don't know the process, but I'm sure Island View would help with the transaction. whoever has knowledge on doing something like this please let us know. Would IVE bid for us and we pay them? I just don't know.

I am thinking 9mm because of recoil and ammo availability. Glocks are just undisputed and top notch in durability. you just don't here bad things. I went to IVE yesterday to see what they had and I did like the SW M & P 9mm and I am totally willing to get that if we don't make any good progress on the G19 soon. I also really like the Sig Sauer P250 9mm if anybody has thoughts on that.

Thanks again for everything and please chime in with thoughts or suggestions.

Kevin

I would like to see the mounting equipment that Kevin is getting for his wheelchair. (I assume it mounts to the wheelchair.)

Could someone post a list with links so we can see what this engineering marvel looks like?
