Default This is encouraging.. The GOP fighting back

http://news.yahoo.com/gop-blasts-oba...-politics.html

In their first collective response to the mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut late last year, every Republican on the House Judiciary committee has signed a letter criticizing the Obama administration for not enforcing current federal gun measures.

In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting Dec. 14, House Speaker John Boehner said the House committees of jurisdiction would conduct reviews of the nation's gun laws before determining whether any new measures or changes to current laws are appropriate.

About time they started to show some signs of testicular fortitude. They still have a long way to go though...

I think it's a great idea to actually go through the laws we have and see if we have a problem. I really don't like John Boehner but I have got to say, he's right on this one. We probably don't need yet another law but simply enforce the ones we have. Felons aren't supposed to have guns, crazy people aren't supposed to have guns. I don't see many mass shootings for example, from perfectly sane people.

Yeah, so when can we expect to hear something similar out of the mouths of the California Republican leaders?

Make no mistake. House Republicans are not fighting back. They don't need to.

They are simply playing the waiting game and baiting the Senate Democrats to pass anti-gun legislation.

Boehner has stated many times that the House will "consider" anything passes by the Senate.

Mark my words.... The Senate will pass nothing.......

I find it a little difficult to cheer this belated effort, primarily because leadership would usually imply that some prompt or meaningful action is taken to remedy a problem.

What this is, isn't that.

In fact, this is falls somewhere between lip service and foot dragging.

What? All six of them, or however many, it might as well be zero for the pull they have. There is a super majority dumocrap in Sackramento.

The other thing that the House Republicans are doing is letting Obama's sequestration go through. This is really going to hit a bunch of us hard in the pocket book but it needs to happen. He doesn't want to work with anyone so it's time he takes some of his own medicine.

This is good and no new federal laws should be passed. While we are all focused on the Feds more and more states are pissing all over the constitution.

Im so fed up with all of this anti gun, goverment bull s***, I'll take any positive response at this point.

These politicians should be held criminally resposible for any bills they put forward that is found to violate the 2nd. It seems like they can blatantly break the law while they impose new ones on us law abiding. F***n hypocrites.

The Republican Party since 92 has been very strong preserving 2a
Issues.

Personally if I were elected republican and read what gun owners think of me. I would be tempted to roll over.

It's sad to see so many sheeple that automatically bash the GOP and congress.
I am proud of the GOP efforts on nearly every issue.

So lay it on guys, I can take any ridicule you deem appropriate for not running with your herd.
A herd led by judas goats ,who will some day lament their clever 3 rd party votes and lack of even following GOA/NRA recommendations.

It might be more of baiting Reid, he came close to losing in the last election against a so-so candidate, the next round of voting could see using any gun restriction legislation used against his party along with 0bamacare, which is starting to kick in en masse.
