Default I Can't Seem to Stop

Each time lately when I've said "that's the last one I'm going to get for now", I'm off looking for my next gun. I keep finding what I'm looking for too, usually on consignment. I thought I would air this to see if it might help this 'addiction'.

Like I've always said, it's just like HotWheels and you've got to have the one you don't have in your collection.

Seriously though, if you can afford it, why not? Enjoy!

Your just starting. Great way to slow the addiction is to get married and have kids Advance warning, when the kids get older the addiction exponentially increases because you need to make sure your fair with each of them..lol

I just got over my truck modding bug by finishing a full race legal cage and full race-ready suspension. This all started from a cold air intake 5 years ago and me saying "no more mods". Then I get a Remington 870 for Christmas and now I on my 3rd AR build. I think it's hereditary: "big boy toys addiction". All my coworkers think im weird because I dont lease a BMW, play golf, and go to happy hour. I spend my time under my truck, in my garage, and out in the dezert.

That's the problem with this hobby/lifestyle. There's always another cool gun or super bargain you can't pass up.

The only reason I'm able to restrain myself is because I need another safe . I see a good deal or something I really want then I remind myself I have nowhere to leave it securely.

I have been looking for a Glock 23, and in the process have almost gotten 3 different rifles....and probably will.

Bought a lower to hold me off for now at pre-panic price!

A few years ago I got pretty scared by my credit card balance - All guns and ammo. I went on a gun and ammo buying fast for a year. Pretty tough to stick with it at first but got easier. Paid down the CC.

I feel less out of control now, buy whatever I want as long as I don't use the credit card. I'm addicted but not completely irresponsible.

I can spend months planning to buy a certain model gun only to get distracted by a different one before I can actually buy the first one. Like teen aged falling in and out of love. Spend more time wanting and less time getting. Works out OK.

Get a job at a range and gun store. It helped with my addiction back in the day. You stop receiving paychecks and are paid in guns and ammo

Pbbbbb....I know the feeling, 'OP. What first started out with a desire to own one evil black rifle turned out to be a quest to own every type of gun platform. I will have to drag myself away from guns for a while as well; time to pay the piper...

It came today. A Colt Gold Cup series 80 from the 1980's. Very good condition with box, manual (original price sticker), wrench. I thought being in a 30 hiatus would stop me for a while, then comes what I want dressed in a PPT. I shared with one the shop employees; he told me he's bought 7 in the last 3-4 months. It's feels good to know I'm normal.

I've already decided to buy a lever action, a pt92, and if I ever have enough cash, an mp5 clone.

I would not call it an addiction. You are a connoisseur! Keep forging ahead.

As far as i am concerned, you only have a problem when you are selling your belongings, re-mortgaging your home, taking loans, and stealing to afford more toys.

I think it's absolutely this, combined with the fact that all sales take place at a FFL with all sorts of beautiful goodies on display.

So not only do you lack instant gratification, but you're teased by all the other guns out there for you! So you're waiting for your gun and can't help but think of that lovely 1911 you saw there...

Or that's the boat I'm in. Even though I should be good on guns for a while (and can't readily afford more) I still am tempted...
