The first question is: heavier than what?
FWIW, I prefer the heavier 220 grain bullets personally, although I'm starting to lean to the 200 grain JHP from Remington. This is only because Speer discontinued making their semi-jacketed wad cutters in both 200 and 220 in favor of the 210 "curl" bullet.
Be sure to use an up-to-date reloading manual when loading for the .41. A few years ago, pressure testing using a piezo-eoectric system (IIRC) found all sorts of strange pressure spikes in the .41, notably when using Blue Dot.* In fact, quite a few loadings were moved up and/or down so a new manual is a good idea anyway.
*(Yes, Blue Dot. I had great success with 13.3 grains of the stuff packed behind a 220 gr. Spee SJWC - thank you Moulton's Reloading Service - but I was using a Ruger Blackhawk, not a Smith. Now, I'm looking for a new powder myself.)
