Default Shopping for a Garand?

Mark Christian in SoCal is auctioning off his collection on GB. The only two places I can think of that have more Garands than Mark is S.Korea and the CMP. I can tell you from experience, what Mark calls CMP grade will be better than anything you'll find at the CMP, cause he already picked through them.
He's selling them one at a time, so watch his auctions!

Yep, he's looking at retirement. I still can't get him to adopt me and leave his Class III collection to me though.

Wow... pretty plain vanilla SA service grade going for 1200+... with 8 days left it's possible it would fetch 1500+?!

Good for the Seller! Talk about a return on investment.

But at these prices, I'll send my order into CMP and take my chances...

I was wondering who is this legendary collector, Mark Christian. Googled him, one of the results was a thread from 2008 about him selling off his collection one at a time.

That was when he "thought" he was going to retire. Got a very lucrative offer to work again, for a short time.
Mark was selling much of his collection to people he knows, at right about the starting price on his auctions. You always got more than what you paid for, and still do. I have proof of that sitting here in my gunsafe.
I'm not hocking Mark's rifles, you can tell by the bids that I don't have to. Just thought I'd give a heads up to get a nice one. Even he was a little surprised at what that last one went for, being in his judgement, one of the cheaper ones he'll be selling.
Good chance you might find a better rifle/deal at the CMP. A good portion of his rifles were hand picked at the CMP, before they were available to the public. I had a pic of a part of his collection I was going to post for you guys to get a preview of what will becoming up for sale, but I think it's one of the pics I lost on my toasted hard drive.

Holy Batman...that is a lot of Garands. I thought owning 3 was a little out of hand...

Does this guy shoot all of them or is it just a collection bug he has?
