Default Snowboarding/Skiing 2012-2013 season

How's your season going? I've gone three times so far, all at Mt. High. They said that they got 8-10" on Saturday but by the time I went this past Monday, it felt pretty thin =/ Still had a lot of fun. They made the jumps on "creekside" bigger than I'm used to but I just went for it & managed to do 4 in a row two or three times before belly flopping on one . I'm looking to check out Bear Mtn. next week with my cousin.

First timer here, only been 3 times all to Mt. High. Took lessons and they finally bumped me to Blue. Effffff thatttttt. I'm so demoralized after my first run down Conquest. I went from "green ain't nothing but a g-thang baby" to "omg speed tooo steep , turnnn dam you!"

Had a hard time going across the fall line. I would switch edge to turn but instead of gliding across I would slide down sideways gathering up snow like a plow under me. Going too fast?

We'll see.

Hahah, I've only done 'conquest' three times & I have yet to make it down without falling. Try Upper/lower Chisolm next time. I think it's longer but it feels easier to me as I don't fall. Has a cool right hand turn but gets a bit steep after that. My friend & I did the blue runs near the "express" lift & boy was that one fast!

Here you go, Javi - some pics from my trip to Tahoe this season. I'm off to Colorado in about a week also. Not enough good snow here in SoCal, though.

Oh, goodness...Yup, that's what I want to ride this season instead of hard-pack/ice. I rode on a powder day once the one time I went last season. I'm hoping to scrape up some money to go to Mammoth before the snow's gone.

Don't be a *****. Like Travis Rice says, we will only know what we are capable of if we keep pushing ourselves. I try to go at least once a week here. I fall... A lot. I'll still keep hitting the jumps to get over my fears and figure out what I'm doing wrong but bottom line is, of I give up after a few lessons in humility, I'll never grow. Keep at it buddy.

I too am a storm rider. I hit the epic series that Mother Nature dropped on Tahoe over Christmas. Ride 4-5 days in nothing but powder and no lift waiting. The storms broke and the first day sun came out I got to the lift and sighed that there were 10 people in line. Since then it has not been acceptable. I've been trying to plan a Whistler run but their snow isn't any better than ours right now.

Not that good. We haven't had that many powder days and my top speed this season is only 53 mph on the groomers. We're supposed to get 6-12" on Tues or Wed so maybe things will improve.

Oh, and watch this ski movie online, you'll thank me later. Best and most hilarious ski flick ever made!

Had a lot of fun riding with my cousin today. Definitely less snow than last week but oh well. Sometime in the afternoon it started getting pretty slushy. I can't seem to just slide straight when I'm on a box but I was able to ride a black diamond twice without falling

Fell really hard on my lower back & upper butt Monday after a failed 50-50 attempt on a box. Might as well have been concrete painted white & sprinkled with snow flurries on top. Is there any expected snow storms lined up for southern California? I have yet to ride on fluffy snow =/

Wife broke her leg in April at Mammoth...Tibia & Fibula both broken in 7 places. She now sports 2 titanium plates and 16 screws...Ouch!!!

I hope to get a couple of days in this year locally at Mt, High, maybe a late season trip to Mammoth alone for a day or two.

Grisley Guy - Great video...I was doing flips off KT22 in the 1980's
