SOG has these Chinese Mosin Carbines in stock for $99 each plus about $35 shipping for both.
I just picked up two (handpicks, so +$10 each) which shipped and arrived within a week, a 1954 and a 1955: ![]() ![]() (serials and import mark scrubbed): ![]() Both are in decent enough condition, with excellent bluing and solid (if dinged) wood. The one with the cleaning rod is a mostly matching numbers gun, with a somewhat worn stock (solid, but dinged a bit). The one without the cleaning rod has no matching numbers, but the stock is somewhat nicer. Both guns have one or more Russian (Izhvesk) parts. One's bore (with cleaning rod) looks brand new and shiny clean. The other bore has some light frosting in the grooves but looks pretty decent with strong lands. Overall not bad for the price (about $125 each shipped including the handpick), and in stock. I am looking forward to shooting them. Both have nice trigger pulls and really slick bolts.

Nice looking rifles, well worth the price.
But just because the Albanians mixed in some Soviet parts does not make them "Sino-Soviet", a term that is properly applied ONLY to the very early Chinese SKS rifles assembled out of Soviet parts under the supervision of Soviet technicians. |

It is purported that the Soviets supplied the Chinese with the tooling to make the T53 and they produced them under the supervision of Soviet technicians just like they did for the early SKS. It is also said that they sent spare parts as well. If the term only applies to early Chinese SKS and the T53 predates the T56 then wouldn't they be "Sino-Soviet" as well? Or maybe the first year 1953 SHI marked T53? Who even knows who first started using the term "Sino-Soviet" to describe early T56... "Sino-Soviet" in the broader sense of the term refers to the diplomatic relations between China and USSR. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Soviet_relations Honestly I don't really care, just playing Devils Advocate.. lol

How much was shipping on 3? I hate that their website doesn't tell you shipping estimates.

I just ordered (3) T53 Chinese rifles from SOG for $94 each since I ordered three of them. I also ordered (3) Mosin 91/30 rifles from Century for $109 each that are being shipped at end of month when they come in. SOG wanted $259 each for the same Mosin. Cant wait to see them all.
