What does he want the .22 for?
If it is to cheaply practice and he owns a Glock/SW/1911 he might want to look into the .22 cal versions of these.
TINY hands?....then look at the Ruger SR22
Competition shooting?....Ruger competition model
Plinking?.....Ruger Mk 1,2,3,22/45
I would avoid the Walther P22 with it's cast zinc slide that has been known to crack. They are not as accurate as the SR22 (from my own experience with shooting both) and the Ruger is cheaper to boot.
