Only seen it mentioned once before, and even that was a surprise to me: A change of cloths, and good walking/hiking shoes.
I wear a suit to work, and if I have to go anywhere on foot, you're damn sure I'm not going to do it in my oxfords and tie. I have a pair of work pants, and sweatshirt, some extra socks and tennis shoes in my trunk along with my gear. You'd really be surprised how often you use items like this on a regular basis.
