Default Muzzleloader Barrel Finishing

I am going to be ordering a muzzleloader build kit. It will be a Lyman .50 cal, Great plains Hawkens. I do mostly rebuilds and restorations of military and civilian. This rifle is going to be my own project. I have done cold blueing (Brownell's Oxpho-blu gel/liquid) and things have worked out great. On this type of rifle the barrel of that time was "brown." I have only looked at Brownell's and Midway catalogs so far and read a couple of reviews on some products. So, what is easy? What is best? I like to do things right the first time. Any suggestions would be a big help.
