Get the permit with the pistol you have. Then, you can take time to choose/find a pistol that you really want to carry, and get it added to the permit.

Did this recently myself. I received my permit with my pistol listed on the permit. Later, I purchased another for primary carry. Once comfortable with the new pistol and feeling that it's reliable. I went back to my CCW instructer and qualified with it. I then scheduled a modification appointment and had it added to my permit. Now, I can carry either!
