My son just entered the LASD Academy a few weeks ago. He's squeaky clean and 26 BTW. Anyway, I asked him about the b/g check and interview process and he said they grilled the $#!+ out of him about drugs. They could not believe he did not smoke pot, passed the Polygraph (obviously).

I'd say your chances are slim at best with the Coke... add X to the mix and there's more than a fair chance that's the nail in the coffin and they WILL find out if you lie. So, if it's something you are REALLY CALLED to do, go for it. But, BE HONEST, forthright, transparent, and contrite because you never really know for sure until you get in there and you may be a good fit somewhere else in the Department. Who knows.
