I once got a good deal on a S&W snub revolver because some PD back around 2004 said no more revolvers at all even as backups. A local gun shop acquired a pile of them on consignment I think they were actually issued model 640's as backups by the PD I should have bought one of those too. Kind of a strange policy they implemented.
