Bottom line.
1 - CCW in California, whether issued by a city or county, is good state wide no matter how the other counties feel about it. So you can carry in SF or LA and there ain't **** they can do about it.
2 - I would not worry much about the neighbor interviews if they in fact do them. It is unlikely that they disclose to the neighbors the reason for the questioning. You could simply tell them it is a background check for a super secret mission you are working on.
