I would take it real slowly with this girl, she doesn't sound like she comes from your world. And just for laughs, listen (all the way through) to Tim McGraw's "It's a Business Doing Pleasure with You"

BUT your question was "what's a nice thing I can do when she comes home". My answer would be a nice dinner at her favorite place, and when the (inexpensive) glasses of champagne are served, give her a one-man heartfelt standing ovation, right there in the restaurant, in front of god and everybody. She'll be a little embarrassed, but she'll remember it her whole life.
I have already flown out to see her twice, although not at great expense. I think that your idea is good, and I might just roll with that. Someone else mentioned reading; she is going into publishing, and my first gift to her was a set of first edition novellas by Edith Wharton. They cost me virtually nothing, although I am well aware of how pricey they actually are.

I am a very simple man, and have never believed that gifts are a reciprocal matter. But I would like her to appreciate, or at the very least understand the world I come from.

Many thanks, ladies.
