How is a threaded barrel more or less dangerous than its non-threaded cousin?

I know preaching to choir here but it just strikes me as insane to attempt to understand any reasonable justification behind the law itself....
An AR-15 handgun is a semi automatic handgun. A 1911, glock 17, whatever, can have a threaded barrel if you have a mag lock.

Why are they illegal? Well, because suppressors are dangerou... wait those are already illegal. Because flash hiders are... wait that's not a assault weapon feature on a handgun and you could just pin and weld it anyway so the threads wouldn't matter.

Don't try to apply reasoning to anti gun laws, there isn't any.
