Probably the most common reproduction C&R firearm out there are all the 1911 and 1911A1 clones.

As mentioned above, there are also M1 rifle and carbine and M14 rifle copies out there.

M1 carbine copies and M1 rifle knock-offs come and go....not much of a market for these with the affordability and availability of the real thing. Most M1 rifle copies use military parts on a new receiver, hence poduction of these depends on an available and affordable supply of original military parts, and when this dries up the manufacture of these copies tends to stop - witness the ones Century Arms made a few years ago, and the Federal Ordnance and National Ordnance ones before that. Since one generally can't own a military M14, there is more of a market for the commercial ones.

There were also copies of the 1903A3 made many years ago by National Ordnance, again using military parts on a newly made receiver.

The problem with reproducing most vintage firearms is the high cost of making them vs. the relatively small market for them, especially when priced significantly above what an original costs.

A lot of replica firearms - like the late Universal and IAI M1 carbines - have terrible quality problems. Even good ones are often too expensive, or appeal to a limited market sector, to compete.

Chinese, Italian, and Spanish arms makers generally are better able to make affordable quality copies of vintage firearms than U.S. makers or other Eurpean nations.
