My wife has one that was manufactured in the 1920's; it is a very smooth, very easy to carry lever carbine. While the .25-20 doesn't have a lot of power, it is a blast to shoot, and can be easily reloaded. My late FIL used it for venison, rabbits, and whatever he could get to put food on the table for many years when he hunted the Santa Monica Mountains.
