Consolidating to one caliber definitely has its merits particularly if you are a reloader. You only have to stock one type of brass, primer, powder, and bullets, and one setup for the dedicated handgun reloading machine. That is if you only shoot handguns for one purpose such a self defense. If you also want to participate in other handgun activities such as hunting with a handgun it gets a little more complicated. I sold/traded most of my handguns a few years back and purchased .45 caliber 1911 type guns. Mainly I did it due to the fact that I grew to prefer the single action pistols. Worked great, saved time and money for a few years, until I got a good deal on a 9mm AR upper, then back to reloading two types of handgun ammo. Someday I would like to get a 44 mag for the fun of it, then it will be back to reloading three types of handgun ammo. It's a good concept for saving time, and money if you can stick to it.
