Ok - Here's my two cents:
I bought a Winchester Model 70 in .270 cal back in the mid-80's, part of that deal was I traded in my Marlin 336 30-30. I've deer and various critters from the deserts of AZ, to the woodlands of NC - in all kinds of weather. It has never failed me, (when I've done my part) anyways here's a pic the gun:
