Ammo Availability in San Diego

Like to start a thread about current ammo availability in San Diego. Maybe people can post which stores have ammo and some pricing info.

For starters (like everybody else) I'm currently looking for .223 Rem/5.56 NATO ;)

Gutz 03-07-2013 7:18 PM

They restock every Tuesday. If you want anything you have to line up around 9:30 (30 minutes before they open).

Daryl_Dixon 03-10-2013 3:45 PM

Just saw they had 9mm rounds at Discount Gun Mart Morena at $18/box of 50 rounds.

jaymar88 03-11-2013 11:29 PM

Just wanted to give you all the heads up. I left 2 100 round boxes of WWB .45 auto at the eastlake walmart.

Could've taken all 5 (they offered) but I didn't want to leave someone hangin.

Its now 11:30 pm. Hope someone here gets them. Have a good night.

Jay

Just about everything in stock at DGM On Morena. They were light on 45 and 22 on Friday. Tons of 9mm and 556 though.

MG34 03-12-2013 9:20 AM

Lakeside Walmart 8:45 am 3/12

The shelves are pretty bare. 1250 roonds of 9mm, a few boxes of 45 auto. And a few boxes of 12 Ga. Lady behind the counter said that had just got this in this morning.

SamuraiJack 03-14-2013 12:40 AM

Just wondering why you folks are buying ammo in-store.

Online is sOOOO much cheaper.

just left walmart on clairemont mesa. the store had ammo looked like shot gun and some hang gun stuff couldn't see what it was, still in the shipping box boxes, wasn't much and there was already a line of about 4 people. they dont release ammo tell 7am.

rmatt 03-22-2013 6:45 PM

discount gunmart on morena had tons of everything but 22lr today at 11am. i bought 10 boxxes of 9mm for $19 each and the same amount of 5.56. tons of ammo there.

rain 03-22-2013 8:40 PM

Who knows the best place in SD for 12 gauge?

rumplstinsky 03-24-2013 10:49 AM

I found 22lr lapua at Bella vista outfitters 8.50 for 50 rounds, they had 223 but it was quite expensive, 20 rounds for 30 bucks, they have tons of lee reloading equipment and some primers and tons of bullets for reloading .223 and .308.

BoltActionBranden 03-24-2013 6:28 PM

Anybody have a lead on some reasonably priced .45? Would like to pick some to shoot my new XD when it get out of jail.....

Daryl_Dixon 03-27-2013 7:21 PM

Just saw they had .223, .45, 9mm and 40S&W at Turner's San Marcos. Lots of 12 and 20 Ga. Prices are ok, not fantastic. .223 was $41.00/50 rounds.

tmos619 04-04-2013 4:07 PM

Fine Firearms in La Mesa has 5.56 and .223 about $20 for 20 rounds. Also have thousand round boxes of .223 for $950 and $850 I think. I passed but if you NEED it, it's there

diverwcw 04-04-2013 4:15 PM

Dang, talk about price gouging! This has to let up eventually but I doubt prices will fall too much.

There is no such thing.

If you hate "price gouging" so much, go to Wal-Mart and stare at empty shelves. If you "need" to buy some ammo, you go somewhere where the price has reached equilibrium with the market.

jnojr 04-05-2013 12:52 PM

San Marcos Wal-Mart: Picked clean. A couple boxes of .270 Win, some weird shotgun rounds.

San Marcos Turner's: Picked clean. I think I saw some .270 Win Many cases of shotgun rounds, I think bird/skeet loads

Escondido Big 5: I saw several boxes of Fiocchi, I think .40 (it looks like 165 or 185 gr.) for $32-35 a pop.

LJG619 04-05-2013 1:39 PM

Went to Poway Weapon and Gear yesterday and they had 1000 round boxes of Winchester 5.56 FMJ for $599 and 20 round boxes for $12.99.

jaymar88 04-05-2013 10:51 PM

Just came from Discount Gun Mart on Morena and they had 9, 40, .387 on the shelves. No .45acp but they had a case earlier today.

tmos619 04-06-2013 2:27 PM

Discount Gun Mart has PMC .223 and Independence 5.56 for $19.99/20 and Wholesale Guns and Ammo in Santee has WWB 5.56 for $18.99, a bunch of 7.62 TULA didnt see the price.

There was one box of Magtech (CBC) 5.56 50-round at DGM for $39.99 not sure if they had any more.

tmos619 04-06-2013 4:40 PM

Santee wal mart now!

tmos619 04-06-2013 5:27 PM

as of 5:00 they had a few boxes of Tula .223, a bunch of Tula 9mm, .45 and 7.62. WWB 7.62 and a bunch of other random boxes. Were only a few people there. 5.56 sold out right in front of me but if you hurry I bet you can at least get something.

Robanada 04-16-2013 1:55 AM

Anyone seen any 9x18 makarov anywhere? Picked up a Bulgaria PM last week with 150 rounds. Already out of ammo...

Does Walmart even stock it? I only ever go to the one in Kearny Mesa, but I hardly need an excuse to skip class and go camp out in front of Walmart at 7am for ammo.

XenosAce 04-16-2013 9:52 AM

In north county, I found out that the Oceanside big5 stocks up on ammo on Monday mornings. Every once in a while you can find some decent prices. The walmart in Oceanside supposedly stocks there store on Tuesdays. But they do not follow the 3 boxes per customer rule all that well. So it may be good for you or if you are like me, SOL.

tmos619 04-17-2013 8:32 PM

wal mart santee and parkway plaza have 9mm in stock. WWB 100 round value pack 24.97, federal 50 round 13.97, federal 100 round 22.37. I was at parkway and they had about 20 boxes. heard Santee had about the same.

Also had some 12 gauge

tmos619 04-18-2013 6:04 PM

wal mart parkway plaza (El Cajon) has about 70 boxes of 5.56 as of 6pm. heading to santee to check them out.

tmos619 04-18-2013 6:04 PM

independence by the way. 20 rounds @ $8.97

Revoman 04-18-2013 7:03 PM

Fine Firearms in La Mesa has ammunition. I dunno what calibers or cost, all I know is that I have been in there the past two Saturdays and there have been lots of ammo sales during the time I was there to see.

tmos619 04-18-2013 7:04 PM

wal mart ammo

Santee had about "175 boxes" of Independence 5.56 according to the employee. I got my three. They also had some 30-06 and 12 gauge.

rader2013 04-19-2013 2:08 PM

Big 5 in EL Cajon has ammo... not sure what all types since I am only buying for my shotgun...

jerico 04-20-2013 9:37 AM

santee walmart had hydra-shok 45 and 380. 12 gauge and 20 gauge. el cajon walmart had 12 gauge and 380 hydra-shok.

dominic 04-20-2013 9:42 AM

Its quite a drive from San Diego, but Spragues in Yuma has everything, though they are limiting you to 4 boxes of .223, 22LR & .308.

FF4DOD 04-20-2013 11:09 AM

Just got home from Oceanside Walmart off of College and they are stocked with around 40 20rnd boxes of .223 and 50 or so of 20rd boxes of 5.56

Limit 3 boxes per person so bring your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, neighbor, etc...lol

jerico 04-20-2013 5:58 PM

A bunch of 20 gauge up at the Walmart in santee. Federal 100 packs about 9 boxes. And some 3030

DeerHunter30.06 04-20-2013 11:31 PM

Most Wal-Marts I've been to regulate 3 per person per day ;(
