Nikon 3X9X40 Prostaff Mounting
Hi there,

First off, I have to admit I am totally new to this.

I purchased a Nikon 3X9X40 Prostaff scope to mount on my DD M4V3 and I obviously purchased the wrong mounts for it as it was sitting so low the only thing I'd be zeroing would be my front iron site.

So I don't make another noob mistake, can I ask when your recommendations are on mounts?

Thanks in advance,

I use a burris pepr mount on my flat top for a nikon buckmaster. They are 1" if I' am not mistaken.

I use burris xtra high rings. PEPR mount would be my choice for my next AR.

don't use rings; get a cantilever mount -- less hassle, correct height and proper eye relief. there's a good comparison here, but it boils down to the PEPR being the best option in the around-$100 range, as the others said.

ETA: it's supposed to be at the same height as your irons; that's the right height. the front sight will blur out as you zoom in; if that bugs you, get offset irons, a QD mount or both.

I got the Leupold Mk2 IMS 1" cantilever mount for that same scope. Works great.

Sorry for crappy cell phone pics. It's on a CMMG 22 upper. The cost was around $98 local but maybe cheaper online.
