Here's the new thread as promised. Details are as follows:

March 22-24th 2013

For people interested in participating, here is the area we will be camping/shooting. This is the turn-off from 395 N past Inyokern. The camp is about 1-2 miles on Indian Wells Canyon Road.

I'm definitely coming. I may be bringing my 8 year old with me. He loves to shoot and he is super safe. Do you guys see any hindrances to that? Coming along will satisfy so e of his cub scout camping requirements. May be bringing another new CGer Sillelrae with me. Can't wait. In fact, I think I need to go put a few new pieces in jail before the big weekend.

Glad to have you. Just know that the spot is primitive camping. No amenities at all. You need to bring everything you want and need. :)

I'm off on medical leave at least until the end of the month.
Primitive camping is lots of fun.

Hey Guys is this a public campsite or is this private land?

It's BLM land. Primitive camping. No water, toilets, etc. You can google earth the area and get a good idea of the conditions.

Would I need permission to be on the land?

No. It's public land.

This looks like a good weekend. Have to see if I can get a hall pass.

This is always a great trip people. It's BLM land so no issues.

If anyone is interested in seeing the camping site you can check out a YouTube video that was made of yours truly shooting at the site several years ago. Search for "CGN Camping Trip" and you will get an idea of the geography. It's a perfect place to shoot! :)

Thinking I'll bring my telescope.
Been wanting to try it as a spotting scope.
+ it'll fun to look at stars, if it's not too cold or cloudy at night.

Cant make the haul this time of year. Plus with the remodel going on, I dont have much free time these days. Im gonna try and make the rabbit shoot again this year if it still happens.

Motorhome is being packed up this w/e. The count down starts!

I'm bringing chips & salsa & cheese dip to share.
Beer & limes, too.
Also have a big slab of bacon that needs to be eaten, if anyone wants to help. :)
Think of it as bribery, or a show of appreciation.
I'm still a little handicapped from surgery last month and may need help setting up camp.
At least I can finally walk again. :thumbsup:

Great video. I really like that area. I have camped in Red Rocks Park to the south, but no great shooting there of coarse. I would be there if it were not far! Have fun.

Definitely will help. No beer or bacon necessary. We are coming out for Friday and Saturday. Looks like we will have to leave Saturday night. Looking forward to meeting and shooting. Hoping to find some 9mm before we get there or the fun will be seriously curtailed.

I can't wait fellas. Please remember to bring alcohol as Josey Wales is really ugly and he may suffice for a zombie women when we are there lol!

So how is Indian wells road?? to bumpy for small cars? is a truck or 4x4 needed?

I can drive a 31 ft motorhome to the camping spot. Cars drive on this road frequently.

The road is dirt but well maintained!
