Steyr AUG

Hi Shark - Will there be a bullet-button available to make the Steyr AUG CA-compliant? If so, any ETA? TIA

Riflegear 12-04-2012 8:54 PM

We are working on the design now. It's a two part "button", and there will need to be an extension on the barrel to make the OAL long enough. But it's in the works AS WE SPEAK. I can't give an exact timeline, but it's something we are confident enough that it can be done in relatively good time.

Any updates on this? Is it going to be like the MSAR?

For AUG A3 BB you need these two parts. Not apply to NATO stock version.
1. http://www.riflegear.com/p-560-raddl...r-stg-556.aspx
2. http://www.riflegear.com/p-561-raddl...rofit-kit.aspx

For extending your AUG A3 OLA to 30" you need this part.
1. http://mfiap.com/i-11658336-mfi-hk-s...1-0-pitch.html
2. or you can find a 20" or 24" US made AUG barrel. http://www.pjs-steyraug.com/augusrparts.html

Finally, buy some wood stick and make your own 10/30 AUG mags.

Thanks

Unfortunately it's not that simple - at least not with the Aug A3's that we got in our last shipment. The model we had has an ambi-release on the side of the stock that has to be covered with a shroud and I'm not sure if those other Raddlock parts work at all. I'm working with Radd to come up with something specific for this model. That MFI G28 style muzzle brake is an excellent solution for OAL and is the item we intend to use as well.

I bought the two Raddlock kits from you few days ago and install on my A3 have no problem. How ever, if your A3 has NTAO stock (use AR15 mag), then the Raddlock kits will not work. ;)

I was told by Peter, Raddlock will not work on the NATO stock version but from the photo it should work since mag release is at same location for both stock version. However, I have no NATO stock to verify.

If your AUG A3 stock looks like the one on top then Raddlock kits will work but not the one on the bottom. Thanks

Thanks for the clarification. We are working with Radd to provide a solution for the stock at the bottom of your image.

Thanks,
David

I thought the AUGs were banned by name in the Roberti-Roos AW ban. I'd love to have one myself but could never find an MSAR that I liked. Please enlighten me as to which ones you had/have in stock as I'd love to do more research and learn!

The make "Steyr", model "AUG" is banned.
The make "Steyr", model "AUG-A3" is not.
Similar to the make "Sig Sauer", model "551" being banned. But make "Sig Sauer", model "551-A1" being legal.
Or make "Colt", models "Sporter" and "AR15" being banned. But the Colt SP6920 marked as follows being legal: make "Colt", model "M4 Carbine".

The list only bans the specific makes and models printed in black and white and the list cannot currently be expanded without a change in the law.

Hope that helped clear it up a bit.

I have been speaking to an FFL who would install the Raddlock kits prior to purchasing the A3 standard model. I would like to know if anyone from riflegear has experience in installing these recently, if I do in fact need both, and possibly if I could get the procedure so I can relay it to my FFL dealer?
...unless a CA-Compliant one becomes available.

p.s. Your stores online and off are awesome and thanks for prior sales.

any news on the Steyr Aug rifle.?Rifle gear.....

seainc 08-30-2013 12:25 AM

You can ask seller's FFL to ship only receiver to Riflegear for transfer, no BB needed. Ship rest of items to your home directly and you can install BB yourself once you have everything.
