only thing im worried about is the gas tube being blocked.

what about if ive shot over 5000 rounds of .22LR? will a few round of 5.56 clear out the lead in the gas tube?

Yes... Some guys are really worried about it and like to shoot 1-2 rounds of 5.56 every 500-1000 rounds. Personally, I've yet to see an issue...

I run a Ciener conversion kit with the full auto additional parts that press into the conversion on my M16. After a few 50 round BDM mag dumps I shoot a few 556 rounds and then go back to the conversion.

I'm waiting on full auto bolts for my dedicated .22 uppers.

Once it cools off I will post some .22 tracer dumps.

If you run thousands of rounds of 22lr, watch out for stress on hammer pin. I used to switch for dedicated 22 upper to .223. The blowback of 22lr is harder on hammer pin and broke in 2 pieces. Simple fix.

What made you decide to go with CMMG and where did you get the conversion kit? I've no idea which kits are O.K. and which are best avoided but I am having trouble finding any kits in stock. Also can you specify 10 round magazines rather than the 25 rounders the kits all seem to come with?

My rifle is home built from a stripped CMMG lower with a Delton .625 upper.

Any help would be appreciated.

Lon.

ive read that CMMG's were reliable and mostly used. i havent really researched other brands.

i got it used from a member on AR15.com in their exchange equipment section. it was unfired so it was technically new. got very lucky on the price and jumped on it.

it was a 26 round rebuild kit. added a screw to block it off to only accept 10 rounds

im using a spikes lower and PSA upper

actually its pretty easy to find cmmg mags

just buy the 26 rounds as a rebuild kit and block it off to 10 rnds

tell the seller to unscrew 6 screws and put it in a bag.

Just use Black Dog mags.
