Swiss Rifle Fans, Check This Out
So, while browsing Gunbrokers, I happened to find This interesting auction.
While the shipping is pretty steep, a Min Bid Win still comes out to around $50 a rifle to start out with... What do folks think of this? My first thought was "CalGuns Group Buy?" Not sure how feasible that would really be, but I thought it was interesting to share nonetheless. Local FFL/CalGuns Member Bid, think the Group Buy's kind of unfeasible now. |
My calculations could be off at a minimum it would cost about $7000 (with shipping included) divided up between 60 rifles, equals about $117 per.
|
Suppose it would be about that, yep. $2,900 + $3,800 + whatever the Importer would charge... I guess around $7K, yeah.
|
Thinking.... about... doing... it... NO JOKE!
Whatever you do, DO NOT show this to Latigo... :o |
Seeing how Latigo would react was the second thing I thought of, heh.
|
Watch out for that importer, guys! If you read his feedback, one buyer says that the importer is (and I quote) a "crook".
He's also sold some non-functioning weapons, or weapons with broken parts recently. Another slight problem is the 12 round, detachable box magazines on the 1889 rifles. |
I know the seller well (and so does Latigo), keep in mind that these rifles all come from private Swiss households where they have been for many years, they do not come straight from the army.
The seller is not test firing all these, what he does is a visual inspection and dry-firing to see if it functions, still a striker spring can be worn or a striker pin broken but that is all easy to solve. During (rough) transport the trigger assembly can get loose but that is only a matter of pushing it back into it's seat. |
I know a guy in Solothurn who told me he sells K31's ect to the US market. I can send you his info if that helps. I have a thread of his underground range where he let me shoot a Sig 210, and other guns of his.. (Sphynx - CZ75 clone).
. |
He can sell direct to the US when he is a certified gun dealer, when not he needs the help of a exporting local gun dealer.
|
If there is going to be a group buy, I am down. I have recently purchased a k31 and k11...I would love a 1911 long rifle and perhaps a 1889.
|
I'm in for a group buy... :)
|
If you guys are going to do a group thing, I might be down. I was going to try to do this solo but I don't know where to find an importer, and how to deal with the logistics of that. So yeah, count me in for a share...

This Seller is a reputable guy? Sounds like that's about as good a condition as you could expect. We'd have to get them here and really check them out for safety and functionality, test fire them and all, I imagine. As for a group plan of action... I think my Father and I would be in... We could definitely use a 1911 Long Rifle and an 1896/11 to fill in our Swiss collection a bit more. Another K11 wouldn't be bad either... Alright, let's figure this out... In for a Group Collaboration: Edvil91 penguin0123 CEDaytonaRydr (?) Paulie Lugnuts (Dad!) Airman Skitters We definitely need a few more folks... we need to figure out who we could to go through for Importation... as CEDaytonaRydr pointed out... there were some reviews on the Seller's GB page that indicated the Importer he used was... less than ideal. We also need to figure out where these guns would go and how we would store them and deal with them... and what exactly we'd do with them after we acquired them. I don't think we can legally sell the leftovers in any great numbers after we've all had our chance to pick through them and find our individual cuts of the cake... so... any ideas here? Any at all? On anything from Importer to handling and eventually selling what we don't take? |
I would be in for 1 rifle, but it doesn't look like we have enough interest.
|
Id be in for a k11
|
+1
let me know details if any |

I think, at this stage, we should see how many folks are interested and get a group together. Once we've got a good group of folks involved, we can start to figure out what a contribution should look like... along with... figuring out some of the issues like Importer and whatnot. |
I would be in for 1-2 K11 carbines
|
To clarify, I'm tentatively in for one K11 Carbine, one 96/11. Depending on the condition, I might also pick up an 1889 rifle.

The seller seems to be putting the lot back up consistently... unless someone suddenly jumps upon it... I think we've got a good chunk of time to figure things out. Suppose Jan 1 of next year would be something of a Maximum deadline... what with Long Gun Registration on the books, bleh. P.S. Chucko, I'm adding you to the "Interested" List. |
Yeah I'm only in for one also
can't afford too much rifles on a college budget K11 for me please |
There's a bid on the auction, now. Based on the bidder's feedback, it appears to be a dealer in Tracy.

Just spoke with him, can anyone recommend a good alternative 08FFL importer ? |
Just heard about this one this morning. My Dad was holding out on me! :D
I'm going to leave it alone. We have a lot of Swiss rifles and I really don't want to re-sell something that you guys want in a group buy, not to mention that my time is extremely limited for another month or so. Andrew Zink. He's the seller and my Family has known him for a long time now. He's a dead straight arrow and a true stand-up guy. He also happnes to be our long time Swiss Products Distributor in Switzerland. Is it a good deal? It's an excellent deal, and I can tell you that Andrew doesn't misrepresent anything at all. He's not a kid and has been in the business for a very long time. http://www.augustus.ch/ Hope you guys get them all. BTW, my Son Julian took 3rd in his first Moto last night and 4th in the second at the ArenaCross. He was racing against much more experienced 8 year olds. Julian is 6 and rides a Cobra 50 |
Wow someone bought it at the buy it now price. That's going to end up being $180+ per rifle. Still room there but out of my comfort zone
