My Ultimate 10/22

OK, so not the typical Ultimate.
However to me this is the ultimate or will be with a few more upgrades.
I'm just not for a lot of flash, getting old I guess
Anywho: This started as a stock carbine that was a gift from my wife
Factory DSP Stock I got from Joebobber @ Rimfire Central
KIDD 20" Straight taper barrel
KIDD Bolt
volquartsen hammer
Tuffer Buffer
Nikon Rimfire EFR 3-9X40AO
Leupold QRW Rings
Things to come:

Nice! Simple and clean is the way to go. Blinged out ultimates are for suckers! Lol

Have done nothing to the stock at all.
I do plan on using some Toms 1/3 or Carnuba or maybe just some
T/C Bore Butter

SonofWWIIDI 08-15-2013 12:10 PM

Nice looking 10/22. I really dig that look. I am still trying to decide how I want to mod mine. Nice shooting also.

osis32 09-11-2013 11:12 PM

Id be proud to own it.

Iskra 09-12-2013 9:43 AM

Great looking rifle!

kkp 09-12-2013 11:56 AM

Very nice!

Quick Question, while I think of it: What exactly defines an "Ultimate" 10/22? I see the forum over at RFC, but there's no sticky explaining the specs or parameters...

postal 09-12-2013 2:47 PM

Meh.... It's 'whatever you want it to be' for 'your' ultimate really....

You have the sleepers, I forgot what they call those... looks basically factory but a lot of internal changes and accurizing.

Then the 'ultimates' which are usually restocked, rebarreled, tuned up and shoot itty bitty bugholes!

I think RFC considers an Ultimate as Blinged out and accurate, lots of fancy.
I posted "My Ultimate" because it is the Ultimate 10/22 to me, everything I want in a 10/22.
I'm not much for Blinged out firearms, more into the clean and functional.

Lousy picture I need a new phone or start using one of my camera's.
My is a 10/22 I bought in 1985, some time in the late 90's I sent it to Clark's Custom Guns in LA. they did the action and it has one of their barrels, scope is a Tasco 6x24 Varmint its been on the rifle forever. This thing is a tack driver and really likes Federal Gold Medal match of which I'm down to a couple of bricks. My grandson learned to shoot with this & when I go its his.

Hopefully they don't reinstate rimfire on the banned list before he is of age. They tried to lump in rimfire rifles with all the other targets in SB374, just because it, too, has a detachable magazine. It would have been classed as an "assault weapon" and required to be registred as such, and then you would never be able to transfer it to someone else in this state, even in your will. Thank goodness they eventually excluded them, but there's little doubt that they'll try again next round...

Tom-ADC 09-13-2013 2:40 PM

kkp, not a problem he is 27 right now been shooting it since he was 10.

In that case, you just need to hope you die (and leave your son the rifle in your will) before they manage to screw us with a change in laws. :D

Tom-ADC 09-13-2013 3:27 PM

I'm going to buy a house in AZ and when I die leave it and the guns to him.

bsg 09-14-2013 10:28 PM
