Like Ryhno, I can offer purchase power and transportation/logistical help, but no brick and mortar.

St-John 04-02-2013 8:08 PM

I'm in, depending on final prices and exactly what round, of course. But, I love this concept.

Psyco66 04-02-2013 8:10 PM

I am down to help. I am in the contra costa area on the San Joaquin boarder. I can have 10,000 rounds of 223/556 gone in a hart beat and probably double that if I spread the word.

Brien 04-02-2013 8:11 PM

Depends on the price per round and calibers available, but I would be interested.

JaeFern 04-02-2013 8:14 PM

I'd help

Xcountryrider 04-02-2013 8:16 PM

Cool plan.

Calboom 04-02-2013 8:18 PM

I can help out, Eastbay to Sac...

gotime 04-02-2013 8:18 PM

I'll help. I'm in the Inland Empire.

St-John 04-02-2013 8:25 PM

Baja, give us an indication of the numbers you've come up with. I realize it's based on what DHS has ordered, and is in no way to be construed as what we would pay. But, it would be nice to get some notion. That notion can help folks put a vague $ sign on the idea; that could help recruiting or culling. Might also have folks take more than one "position".

aznminhister 04-02-2013 8:27 PM

Sounds very interesting. Can't wait to see what comes from this.

BushMaster805 04-02-2013 8:29 PM

i'm interested and willing to help in Ventura county

pklonn 04-02-2013 8:31 PM

Count me in for distribution and clearly some purchases of handgun calibers, but alas...no brick/mortar location except the garage of my home. Don't forget Ventura County area!! I could help distribution from West San Fernando Valley to Santa Barbara.

westsiderippa 04-02-2013 8:34 PM

alfred1222 04-02-2013 8:34 PM

I'm in for 9mm and .223

Baja Jones 04-02-2013 8:52 PM

Great initial response. When we are talking about this volume we are talking non residential receiving dock or pallet jack lift gate delivery. Either way we will need a secure location where members can pick up on say one Saturday per month. My neighbor is retired LEO and did this for the SDPD from his house and the DOJ showed up at his door. We will need to make sure this is within the local code and the guidelines of the law.

shooperman 04-02-2013 9:00 PM

Another volunteer from San Diego here. Let me know what I can do to help.

jims1001 04-02-2013 9:09 PM

I am in
I can help to deliver as well

Toddster 04-02-2013 9:10 PM

Volunteering from OC....I would love to be involved.

Some computer/database design/web design experience, and some purchasing/distributing power, and logistical willingness like many of the others.

dued 04-02-2013 9:10 PM

I can create ads / flyers to advertise.

Duck Killer 04-02-2013 9:12 PM

The problem is cash. You would need millions in cash for a manufacture to even consider. Also that is cash up front. They will not give you credit. Even if you could get the cash flow i doubt they would undercut their normal distribution hubs to sell it to you for less money. Plus the cost of storage, labor and accounting would be to much. Ammo has about a 15-20 percent mark up. A better route is large group buys through sg ammo or aim. They can order large quantity and be a middle man cheaper than you can do it yourself.

Why not do pickup from the shipping company's hub? Like lets say that 5 guys are doing distribution for the South Bay. They get their allotted ammo loaded into their trucks, and drive to set pickup points. Parking lots, gun shops, ranges, central locations where people can meet and get their allotment while the distributors mark everyone off, check ID's, and make sure the correct amounts get to their set locations. Buyers will have a schedule of pick up times to meet distributors, and in the meantime, distributors will be responsible for securing the ammo

itisagoodname 04-02-2013 9:15 PM

In as well.

You're wrong... Ammo has a huge markup, up to 60%. Cash flow is simple, an order is negotiated, than a price given to buyers. Buyers wire money to main guy, guy pays, ammo gets shipped

jlclroe 04-02-2013 9:37 PM

I'm in for .223. Keep us posted.

Sydwaiz 04-02-2013 9:38 PM

Interesting. Anyone know what type of permits/insurance is needed for storage and distribution?

RAymond3 04-02-2013 9:40 PM

The Sherriff's department where my son works has cancelled all handgun and rifle practice since they can't get 40 or 223 for their 340 officers. Our club which runs a public range is out of most major calibers which used to be sold to the public every day, and the next order is not coming in until July. Seems like there ought to be a real opportunity to get others to join us.

OneLuckyDaddy 04-02-2013 9:41 PM

I'm definitely in and I can help with distribution.. I can also get about 50 - 100+ of my co workers to get in on this for sure!! Message me with more details when you have time.

uzzdeenz 04-02-2013 9:42 PM

I'm interested.

nil 04-02-2013 9:43 PM

I'd buy a couple thousand 9mm & 5.56 easily. I'm in Santa Cruz and could volunteer my time & car to help. Also have some garage space in Orange County.
