10/22 Club

I decided it was time to join the 10/22 club today. So I put a 10/22 in jail at Turners in FV as they had it on sale.

Now, off to search for more ammo!

Nice rifle, The stock mag is my choice . Power custom scope mt . CCI ammo is being found. It cost to much for the flippers . I have 4 10/22s.

I just jailed the same exact rifle yesterday at Turners in FV too, I threw his friends the Marlin 795 and Hi point 9mm carbine in jail too.

I get to pick up my first .22 tomorrow. i went with the blue camo 10/22 that came with a nikko stirling scope. Got mine from turners temecula. havent seen any good deals on ammo lately...

Press Check 09-15-2013 12:01 PM

Bought one from Turners in Reseda last week. Only thing I'll be using is the receiver.

Not particularly fond of Turners, but they had a ton of 10/22's in stock.

Mizouse 09-15-2013 12:31 PM

Wish there was a turners up here.

Congrats! But, I thought you join that club when you're teenager. I just got the same one on a PPT and I'm about to give it to my son for his 6th birthday.

kkp 09-16-2013 12:55 PM

Welcome to the club! I have two carbines myself, one in SS/Synthetic stock and one blued/wood stock. My wife and I had a blast with them this weekend. :D

I joined that club at 58, lol, but then I don't act my age either!:oji:

I was thinking about joining the club too but do I really need to get the 10/22 when the Marlin 795 is like $80 cheaper? I just want a cheap plinker rifle and i like the fact that the 795 bolt locks open on the last shot whereas the 10/22 doesn't. I know there are way more customization options for the 10/22 but i intend to keep it stock anyway. I like the flush rotary magazine on the 10/22 but the 795 mag is cool too.

Broke her out of jail last night and gave her a nice clean and lube.

Gonna take her for a test drive at the OC Monthly Shoot tonight in Stanton!

To each his own, but personally I think EVERYONE should own at least one 10/22. Great out of the box and infinitely customizable.

As for the bolt locking open. I always do the "auto bolt release mod" on all of mine. Or if you don't want to do it yourself, new modded ones are only like $10.

I also add a VQ exact edge extractor and a poly bolt buffer to all of mine as a minimum.

I don't know what goes on in my safe once I close it, but my 10/22's keep multiplying. I dress them differently so I can tell them apart :)

I've been shooting ever since I can remember (50+ years) and I've never shot a 10/22. I dros-ed the same model last Friday along with a Mosin.

I've been lucky enough to build a stock pile of 22LR ammo. I wont need any 22 ammo for years, if ever.
