yes it is.....more info on the first page

advocatusdiaboli 02-11-2014 8:28 AM

Great. I am in for the 8th or 9th (prefer 8th but if full can bump to 9th). Got the details from the first page. I've done a bit of shooting but I can always use guidance on how to do it better. Got the requisites. PM me with any details, requirements, pay in advance, etc.

If anyone is on the fence re the skeet clinic, just do it! Had a blast (pun intended) today! Lou made it a fun, relaxing experience. Shooting at moving targets is a refreshing change from those lazy paper ones!

A spot has opened for this Sat 3/8/14 Clinic.....Pm if you want to attend

haw1144 03-09-2014 7:28 PM

Wanted to chime in and say this clinic was great! My wife/I both learned a lot and had a blast... Lou is awesome! We definitely plan on signing up again in the future.

advocatusdiaboli 03-09-2014 10:01 PM

I'd recommend anyone serious about improving their shooting consider this bargain. Lou is a great instructor with a good eye for even the most minor flaws in shooting technique. I am a fairly successful wing shooter though clays are harder for me. I improved my clay-breaking skill in a short time. Highly recommend this clinic.

New Clinic dates March 29th and April 12th

Post or PM to reserve spots

reseve a slot for me for the April clinic

advocatusdiaboli 03-12-2014 1:55 AM

I suppose the purpose of the clinic is to introduce new shooters, but us intermediates could us a good advanced clinic focusing on shooting without the half-day intro to shotguns, etc.

I'd be willing to pay even more for that. It might also boost range revenues which sure looked paltry. Given that municipal cutbacks are in vogue, I'd be worried the trap range is going to be shut down if it doesn't get more use.

Just a suggestion.

Given that there is a 91% chance of rain tomorrow (the 29th) and the total is expected to be 1.2 inches even out here in dry San Joaquin County, is the clinic still on?

Posted similar post right after yours so deleted mine... but according to weather.com, while 90% of rain, only expecting half an inch of rainfall for Metcalf area.

But yes, also still wondering what the status is of the clinic!

Interesting twist: Western San Joaquin usually gets 1/2 to 1/3 the rainfall of the south Bay area. That was Accuweather. So I though, after you observation, I'd check NOAA for the Western San Joaquin Valley:

Quote:

Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 11am. High near 64. Light and variable wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Now that's more like I'd expect, about 1/2 the rainfall out here as the South Bay. Accuweather must had a typo in their app.

Sent a PM but I am interested in the April 12th Clinic.

Folks:

I live about 3 miles as the crow flies from Metcalf. As of right now, we have a bit of a breeze (out of the rain direction), but it is dry.

Weather radar has a storm running on a Southwest/Northeast line from offshore of Monterey to SF to Sacramento. I believe it will arrive here by afternoon.

Since I live so close, I'll be there in any case.

Cheers,

=Marcel

Thanks for holding it as usual. A great experience with a great instructor who knows his stuff. Learned a lot though making it consistent and repeatable is going to take work and practice.

agent9 04-12-2014 7:22 AM

I just found out one of my + is sick and will not make it today. The other two if us will be there, but wanted to post on here in case someone wanted to squeeze in last minute.

concordca 04-12-2014 3:52 PM

Any spots still open? Please sign me up (.40Cal). I'm interested. And looking to buy a shotgun. But I think this clinic would be helpful in learning about shotguns & ammo, before I decide what to get.

AndreZ 04-17-2014 6:58 AM

I would like to reserve a spot for Saturday, April 26th please. PM sent.

skyblue 04-17-2014 7:20 AM

I'm not sure what my schedule will look like on the 27th, but will come if I can make it...can I just show up without a reservation?

I have a full choked C&R that I may be bringing for this. Do the shells usually provided for these clinics have lead shot?

Thanks!
