Entry level holster / mag holder
I'm interested in getting involved in local IPSC shooting competitions in my area and was wondering about what entry level holster / magazine holders I should be looking at? What do I need to spend to et a decent set up?

I'll assume you're shooting Production Division.
Belt: DoubleAlpha or CR Speed inner/ outer belt Holster: Bladetech DOH holster Mag pouches: Bladetech or CR Speed pouches, either single or dual enough to carry four mags |
I use a $30 Galco matrix holster and two Uncle Mike's double mag pouches ($20 each). I do use a CR speed belt but any thick leather or nylon duty belt would work. If you come out to shoot at Norco Running Gun I think they have holsters you can borrow for the day.

+1 on the two belt system
Comptac is another good holster I like the Safariland 771 for single stack and 773 for double stack. You can find them on sale for about $20 each. I have 5 on my production and limited 10 rigs, and 6 on my single stack rig. |
BladeTech Black Ice straight drop belt loop holster and BladeTech single mag pouches with a Wilderness Tactical Original Instructors belt. For Production or Limited 10, get 6 mags, for Limited run 4 big sticks. Get the Peltor Tac 6 electric ears, about $50 on Amazon. Even though the game is commonly called ISPC, it is USPSA.

+1 on Safariland
www.holsters.com Depending on the pistol you use, look for the convertible 5198 and multi application 569 |
Buy once, cry once. get Wilderness or CR-Speed two belt system. Blade-Tech tek-lok mag pouches are nice IMHO. Blade-Tech or Comp-Tac holsters are the preferred choice by most folks in USPSA Production division.
+1 to at least 6 mags, more if possible so you can have 6 on belt and a loader mag too. |
