That's a GREAT price on a very good shooting mat. Good call posting this. No reason to use carpet scraps any longer....

Carpet scraps build character.

Thanks for posting I've been looking for a mat just like that.

Thanks...my Al Freeland is all but worn out and this is a good replacement at a good price.

I was going to order one, but it looks like they killed the sale early.

I was going to order one, but shipping killed it for me. That and they wanted to double the shipping charge to around $24 to add a couple of small butler creek scope caps to the order. I was extra over it at that point.

Multiple reviews seem to indicate the stitching is sub-par, that's why I hesitated and didn't buy one. Anyone have one for a while and find this to be true?

I have had one of these mats for about 1.5 years. I have used it heavily, mostly in the dirt and mud, and have frequently loaned it to Appleseed participants. It's still in good shape, though shows some wear in the stitching. I think I paid about $50 for it and consider it money well spent.

I just got mine in this week and I have to say... AWESOME!!!!

Nothing comes close, at the sales price! The best 30 bucks I have spent on shooting!

I think I pointed out in a previous thread that a moving blanket (between $5-$10) makes an excellent, though "ghetto-ish" shooting mat. Fold it over and it's super comfy. And I suppose if you are in the prone position and get cold, you could wrap yourself in it! :)

That's a good tip. I've said this before, I think carpet's actually the most comfy if you're going to be out there all day, but it's kind of a pain to carry around for a regular range visit so I have midway's smaller mat - I think this is the one - http://www.midwayusa.com/product/169...vc=subv1276544 It's pretty much perfect for putting between the benches at Chabot for an hour or two, and it rolls up small and it's lightweight.
