+1 But if I could hunt what I wanted when I want I would hunt Elk

vliberatore 04-05-2013 9:31 AM

I won't mess up the poll since all I've hunted are coyotes. Looking to branch out and do a lot more in the coming year.

pdq_wizzard 04-05-2013 11:32 AM

no better sound in the world than an Elk in rut

The Original Godfather 04-05-2013 7:02 PM

Whatever is in season and I can eat.

Pig/Boar is a staple:)

waterfern 04-05-2013 8:29 PM

The deer hunters seem to be in the lead!

Upland for me, but i am going elk hunting this summer so maybe that will change.

252yft 04-06-2013 5:11 AM

Really depends if I want to be by myself or with friends and dogs.

DIY-Elk without a doubt.

Bargain Bin at Safeway.

You forgot to add Dove to your poll.

I love the bargain bins at Safeway! A month or two ago, they paid me 4ยข to take some sausage out of the store. :D

razr 04-06-2013 4:48 PM

WT all the way.

Fjold 04-06-2013 4:55 PM

Cape Buffalo

(For the win!)

Tanner68 04-06-2013 10:44 PM

Chukar.... especially in the Mojave Desert.

duckman1 04-07-2013 6:03 AM

Livingston Eland.

First one was one of the toughest hunts in my life and it is on the list when I return.

HunterRyan 04-07-2013 6:06 AM

You left off Dove. That would be my vote. It's cheap and the perfect hunt to hang out with the kids/guys/family on. And, if you're a bad shot, you can shoot all day.

Southwest Chuck 04-07-2013 7:12 AM

No Moose option? I heard they're tastier than Elk.... :D

MJB 04-07-2013 7:32 AM

I like it all!!

wolfy 04-07-2013 6:23 PM

Squirrel,I let them get big and fat off my oak nuts and and then blast them. Then another brave one fills his hole and claims the tree for himself. The older they get the wiser and more alert, makes for a tougher hunt.

waterfern 04-08-2013 9:13 PM

Just curious if anyone knows how many people use the "hunting" forum on a regular bases? wondering if 75 is about the right number or is it more?

I read the hunting forum every day but as I get older I have learned not to open my mouth in a public forum:facepalm:

Ducks #1. Nothing better than some hot coffee, a cohiba, the smell of your wet dog and the sound of ducks sailing over your blind.

Doves #2. Jess Robertson, "They are the filet mignon of the sky."

Gambino1 04-09-2013 7:06 PM

Newly divorced/separated Cougars.

Laddy 04-09-2013 9:50 PM

Mr Billy......William if you will. Mountain Goats by far and away were the best two hunts of my life, it has everything a western hunter cherishes: spike camp, steep terrain, stalks leading to nowhere, UP and plenty of it. Whoever said prior the smell of wet dog and coffee is right on too, duck hunting is my #2

NastyNate 04-09-2013 9:54 PM

Pigs. Those animals always prove hard to hunt.

lewdogg21 04-10-2013 5:39 AM

The social aspect of Duck/goose is unsurpassed. A lot of great stories, great times, and memorable shoots in a blind or pit. Probably the best is horrible weather with driving snow that made the ducks and geese come to food. Yeah it's like 15* out and your freezing your *** off but when they come, it's like heaven opens up and stuff drops everywhere.

waterfern 04-10-2013 8:35 AM

So who is the sick bastard that likes to hunt people?

waterfern 04-11-2013 11:49 AM

Interesting that upland game is almost tied witg deer.

olhunter 04-12-2013 8:00 PM

Seriously? No rabbits?

Delicious and they're everywhere.

As much fun, if not more, than dove hunting. If you can't harvest rabbits for food, you should take up fishing. Or golf.

Everything else isn't really the same after you've hunted people. So I hear...

waterfern 04-13-2013 10:00 AM

100 votes! Impressive.

Joe'Bronco 04-13-2013 5:57 PM

Elk is the most heart pounding and technical hunt
Deer the most often
Turkey To easy... I have to kick them out of the way to get to my truck in the mornings.
