Will this work on a converted 5.45 Saiga?

duraglock 07-12-2012 7:18 PM

Depends on trigger guard used

Roecar 07-22-2012 1:06 AM

Sad to say the "factory" clip does not fit in a WASR 10/63. The MFER itself fits but the clip does not mate with the WASRs indent on the front of the "magwell."

Do you guys make a special part for this or am I SOL with the MFER. Other than that it does work very well.

How to install Solar Tactical AK-47 MFER

Roecar 07-28-2012 10:03 PM

I tried to do everything in it with no luck. It appears there is a little more of a metal lip that prevents the MFER from keying in.

Guys are running them on century dracos and wasr 10s. It could need reciever material removed where the clip grabs. Email us a pciture to sales@solartactical.com

From your website:

"The AK47 MFER is designed to be a drop in part with no modification to the host weapon. It fits all AKM pattern AK47 style rifles along with 7.62 Saigas...."

Tried to install mine, found that it doesn't fit Stock 7.62 Saigas...

To avoid confusion, you might want to change the product description to:

"It fits all AKM pattern AK47 style rifles along with Converted 7.62 Saigas...."

liberty47 08-09-2012 7:02 AM

and maybe add that some wasr 10 rifles require modification

Roecar 08-24-2012 5:17 PM

Well I'm back to report, I got really impatient yesterday on my home home from work so I decided to work on my rifle. Being pissed I hammered the MFER onto my WASR and it "fits". The clip is mashed to hell but it's holding steady and I locktited the screws for the trigger guard. I'll be going to the range tonight for pictures and testing. I'll post those tonight or tomorrow.

duraglock 08-24-2012 7:05 PM

Seems like some wasr rifles have issues. Check the you tube install video out which shows how to install it.

duraglock 08-24-2012 7:07 PM

Email me a close up of the lip on your wasr with the issues.

liberty47 08-25-2012 12:15 PM

If i bring the MFER and WASR 10 to the ventura gun show will you be able to help me install?

duraglock 08-25-2012 5:12 PM

Yes we can. Not sure if your the same guy I spoke with on the phone and email but yes can show you the install setup . Seems like have the wasr 10 fit and guys are not having any issues with dracos.

Military moron has a review up.

Mfer spotted in this months recoil magazine.

I got my second MFER in and installed in in my wasr-10/63. i had to bend the lip up on the fron of the mag well to get it to engage. However now I have a new problem. Its very difficult to get the mag into the rifle. I insert the mag just like I do with the arsenal but something is not lining up right and i can't rock the mag back. I think the mag is catching on something. The MFER works AWESOME with my SGL21 so its gotta be something odd in the WASR. anyone else with a wasr run into this?

duraglock 09-13-2012 4:24 PM

Measure the distance between the latch and receiver lip on both guns.

will do. and looking at it I think thats the problem. I would have replied earlier but I went out of state for some training after I posted and basically forgot about this thread.

and its with any mag I try mostly euro steel mags is what i own.

duraglock 10-03-2012 7:32 PM

Take some off the front receiver lip.

I got the wasr out last night and I compared it side by side to the arsenal. the MFER sat to far to the rear on the wasr as compared to the Arsenal. I used the old WECSOG dremel on the front lip about a millimeter and now the regular steel mags lock in like they do in the arsenal.

it figures. stupid century monkeys mill job. take off too much on the sides not enough on the front.
