Walmart in Valencia off Copper Hill has 5.56 cases/9mm/45 in stock

They had 8 of the 420rds of 5.56 ammo in the ammo box for $127 and privi 9mm and i think the 45 was the white/green box Remington.

They easily had 30 boxes of the 9mm and 20+ of the 45. 3 box max for the typical stuff but 1 case per person of the 5.56. I wish i could of bought 2 so i would of been set for a few months but i understand, sharing is caring in the shooting community :)

Just a heads up, make them put it in a bag! The guy just gave it to me to carry off the handle which was just fine and leaving i realized i needed to get something else and when i was paying for it and in line up front some stupid lady says quite loudly "OMG are those all bullets in there!" and i just ignored her and put my headphones in (listening to NRA Cam and Co :) )

Ashman 01-25-2013 10:04 AM

They are all out of the 5.56

Medic451 01-25-2013 10:10 AM

Its too bad you can't shoot green tips at any of the ranges out here- damn magnet rule. :(

SGT Loco 01-25-2013 10:37 AM

I know where I'm stopping today :)

Ashman 01-25-2013 11:01 AM

The stevenson ranch store has about 18-20 boxes of the 20rd American Eagle .223 in stock for 8.07 each .. but they were going fast

This!

I hit the Stevenson Ranch store last night just after they stocked it. Several cases (ammo cans) of the Federal 5.56 ammo and the American Eagle .223 on the shelf. Looks like our area got a nice shipment!

Damn that was fast. I was talking with a calgunner who PM'ed me and he was asking for the SKU# and i hope he got in on it.

Its funny, i got out of my car right when there was another guy an isle over got out and we both looked at each other walking kind of fast and started laughing and he asked "Ammo run" and i said YUP. It was hilarious how we could both just tell we were there for ammo LOL

Kingofthehill 01-25-2013 1:52 PM

Just hit up the Stevenson ranch location and they had a bit of American Eagle .223 left. Limited to 3 boxes (i thought it used to be 5 or 6???).

They had a good bit of .40 in a blue/white case i think "Privi" not sure. i have tons of .40..

the nice girl (maybe in her late 20's???) was very cool and turns out to be a shooter herself. She said those cases of 5.56 were gone by 8:30 the morning. Its amazing how crazy fast it goes. this was my first round i made for ammo since coming back to CA and its amazing how fast it goes here. Granted we had 50 freaking walmarts in San Antonio plus cabela's, bass pro shop, sportsman's guide, 5 smaller shops and a gun show ever 2 weeks there was never a shortage or even a thought to really stock up... totally different worlds.. although its also a different time even though that was hardly a month ago.

Medic451 01-25-2013 2:37 PM

Copper Hill walmart is out of .223, they still had quite a bit of PPU 9mm and .45 when I was there at 1:30pm

She is indeed cool. I have chatted with her myself and found out the same thing that you did about her being a shooter (or used to be - too expensive now she claimed). Pretty sure she knows who all the guys are that come there for ammo now.

I had alerted people last night that the cases were available, so maybe some members went and snatched it up. I do not own any rifles in 5.56 or I might have grabbed a case myself. I only bought the American Eagle .223 that I shoot out of my friend's AR when we go to the range.

I just left. They've only got a handful of boxes of 9mm left, but still look to be good on .45. I didn't check rifle ammo, but it looked like there were still small boxes.

Do they always have a three box limit? They're only 50 round boxes :(

cwilliams 01-25-2013 4:46 PM

The three round limit has been because of all the panic buying and I did not see the sign on the case around here until last night. It might just actually make finding something possible now and I personally do not disagree with it.

As the locals to the SCV know, there are several ranges in the area and I would be willing to bet some of them were going to Walmart and essentially wiping them out in one big purchase as soon as the doors opened. I have no truth to that, only speculation based upon other threads from other areas.

Check the marketplace, I bet you'll find the same ones for $500. If it wasn't for the price gougers there would be plenty of ammo in the stores, for cheap.

ImpaktechUSA 01-25-2013 5:47 PM

NO WAY!!!! even pre panic those cans were 164.00 .. theres no way they're cheaper now

cwilliams 01-25-2013 5:48 PM

They were $175.00

Medic451 01-25-2013 6:05 PM

Thats exactly whats happening. Guys were buying all the ammo up at local places, and reselling it here for 3 times the value. There are a few guys trying to sell the 420 rd boxes for 350 or more, and there are still idiots paying them. Hopefully these purchase limit policies will put a stop to that crap. Can't blame the seller though, just the ignorant buyer. If I could buy toilet paper in bulk at walmart and sell it to some nitwit here on calguns for triple what I paid for it...I'd do it too.

Mp5marley 01-25-2013 6:10 PM

i am thinking of putting up some ammo for what i paid... $6.19 per box of xm193 but make it a 1 box limit to make a point that gouging is not a good thing.. .can you imagine when the SHTF, people will be raping each other for a bottle of water.

Nope, sell it for $25 a box. Eventually all of these idiots will go broke paying those prices and won't be able to afford any more ammo. Then when ammo becomes available at a normal prices again, the patient ones will reap the benifits.

Datdarkness 01-25-2013 11:20 PM

Maybe we can have an official scv ammo thread :D

They still are in places. I just 3 boxed limited Saturday morning.
Still not a bad price considering the cool seal-tight metal ammo case they come in.

fifT7 01-28-2013 3:44 PM

I hit all 3 wms in SCV today and they were the same kind of bare. 22 magnum, some 17, 22-250 and a decent amount of 20 gauge.

When I went back by those mega packs were gone.

She's a fantastic employee you need to make it a point of going to management and letting them know that she's great. I once overheard her in the next aisle giving some real solid parenting advice to a male employee that would not be considered PC in todays world but would have been before. She's a great person.

jmaglipay 01-28-2013 5:56 PM

Went to Walmart off Stevenson ranch around noon. Ammo section is bare. No. 223 9mm 45ACP. 22lr in stock. Plenty of 7mm 30.06 and bigger calibers.

I was there at about the same time as well. I just did a quick glance into the case and walked off.

dragonboy221 01-28-2013 8:21 PM

my buddy at the copperhills walmart called me at 9pm (today) and told me they received a shipment of 15 9mm Federal FMJ and a couple of 40SW.

bought all 15 boxes of the 9mm, since he hooked me up.

take that you noobs!

fifT7 01-29-2013 6:21 AM

Walmart off of golden valley has tulammo 7.62x39. It's still under the register at this time
Probably 20 boxes or so as of 7:25am.
Also tulammo .223 but its in the back. He said they got 40 and some 12 ga as well

cwilliams 01-29-2013 10:30 PM

Walmart Stevenson Ranch was finishing stocking the shelves as I walked towards the ammo aisle.

What I saw just as the store was closing at 11pm -

CCI 22lr Stinger - at least a dozen boxes
American Eagle .223- several boxes, more under counter
Remington UMC 9mm 250 round value pack - several boxes (I bought one and so did another person. There are at least 2-3 left) - $68.64 total
Remington UMC 40S&W 250 round value pack - several boxes
Remington UMC 45acp 250 round value pack - several boxes - $107 and change before tax

That's all I really payed attention to, it looked more stocked than I've seen it in a while.

Happy ammo hunting!

G-forceJunkie 01-31-2013 11:05 AM

As of 11:30 am today, the copper hill store had about 20 boxes of AE .223 Most 50 gr, a few 55 gr fmj.

I had stopped by there at around 1:30 and they had 10+ each of PPU and Win WB 45. You're telling me it was all purchased within 3 hours? Holy crap!

Paul E 02-01-2013 12:09 AM

How long have the SCV wal marts been selling the 420 round cans? I've never seen them anywhere in the area. Once the paranoia dies out, I hope I can grab a few, thats a pretty good price. I normally just buy the federal 100 round value packs.

Paul E 02-01-2013 3:29 PM

Update for Stevenson ranch...no 223/556. Looks like they had some defense rounds of 45 and some mixed 40

dragonboy221 02-07-2013 9:13 PM
