FREE DRINKS

Okay so lately it's been hot. I was supposed to be doing billing Friday and I fell asleep in my chair, I just had lunch and a beer, got all leaned back and comfy and Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Woke up with an idea. Called my friend Lee and said meet at the store in fifteen minutes. Loaded up a cooler with 64 waters and 36 soft drinks and headed to a super busy local off ramp during rush hour traffic where we unloaded the cooler and then proceeded to hand out free ice cold drinks to anyone that wanted one. We even spray painted a sign that said ICE COLD DRINKS on one side and FREE! on the other. The reactions were interesting. About 85% of the people just stared straight ahead and wouldn't even make eye contact, 15% would at least smile and of those about 5% would engage and take a drink or just talk. The most common question is "why are you doing this" the most common reaction after taking a drink was a huge "thank you" Two people tried to give us money but we refused. I saw six people that I knew. We had one phone call from a friend who asked " Was that you and Lee on the offramp? what the heck are you guys doing?"

So why did we do it? Mostly just to have fun and bless people at the end of a hot and miserable friday commute.
